    I think this couple probably did this a few times, thus incuring the police call instead of just making them may for it. My wife naggs me when I accidently pack one of the towels, guess I should listen to her more?

    I have never packed a hundred dollar bath robe though thinking I would get away with it.

    Be strong, people of Okinawa. Continue the protests. American "military intelligence" will continue to put and keep these dangerous aircraft over your area because no city in the USA wants them. Ask this question of your leaders: "What good is a slow flying plane that cannot out maneuver a heat seeking missile and can only reach Taipei or Fukuoka? Put these "planes" on Guam and see if the people enjoy these noisy aircraft flying over their area.>

    Then by all means kick us out of your country and let you fend for yourselves....

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    This person does not represent a majority opinion in Japan or Okinawa. The press just magnifies the few trouble makers and thats about it.
    Weren't the yakuza also the first to send aid after the tsunami as well? What is the difference between an organization that breaks the law and a company that has the laws changed so they can do what they want to make money?
    She could have had family in Hokkaido like my wife does.
    @Chika You are absolutely correct. Life is more about then just thinking about trivial matters. While this disaster was regretable in every single way it will have a beneficial effect of changing the thinking of people. As for your writing "As for men I find interesting, rather than appearance, I prefer a strong set of beliefs and a willingness to tackle life and societal problems head on. I think I could live my life with that sort of person" I would whole hartedly agree with you. It was nice to see Japanese people actually comming together after the tsunami. I have made several trips to Ishinomaki right after the earthquake. There were lots of young Japanese people that have done this kind of work for the first time ever in their lives.
    @Mirai
    I'm not worried...its a knee-jerk reaction to mediocre debate performance. If the low information voters knew jists of what Romney was debating, they wouldn't be polling in his favor. Hopefully Obama grows some balls and calls him out on his lies and flips flops next time.
    I don't think so. Remember, Obama is NOT allowed to use his teleprompter at the debate. Therefore, he can neither spin, nor flip, nor flop. Yea, he'll probably go after Romney and the 47% remark and that he doesn't care and so on.... Then what? Obama wants to brag about his economical record? High taxes, inflation, high gas prices, $16T and climbing debt. 7.8% unemployment rate (rofl, yeah, right) increased welfare recipients, disability up 19%, Blacks and Hispanics hovering over 14.4% and 11% between the two. If I were Obama, I would be so proud and of course, I won't have to worry about anything. "Obama, get that Romney!" ROFL! :-)
    That tax rate is for investment income, which is money you already pay income taxes on when paid. To jack up the investment income tax rate would make everyone's 401k, IRA, or other stock market investments less profitable.
    Iran says to fools who will listen to them this kind of crap but their clerics, who have the real power in the country, have sermons about nuking Israel with their first a bomb that they dont believe in making.
    Ooh yeah NBC fired a person with no name and in secret to protect them. I dont think anyone got fired, just rebuked for getting caught.
    His claims about the MSM are correct, NBC heavily edited the 911 phone call. ABC "enhanced" video and said Zimmerman was lying and not hurt at all, then after NBC got caught ABC came clean about their initial assessments begin wrong after enhancing the enhanced video and now CNN which claimed Zimmerman said a racial slur enhanced then enhanced audio and said they were wrong as well. They got caught, thats what they are really sorry about
    @peanut666 the whole get the bases out of okinawa crap probably has ties to China from the cold war.
    @voiceofokinawa America took Okinawa during WWII because of its location and ability for bombers to fly over mainland Japan, Taiwan, China and the PI. Even if the Japanese had no bases there the Americans would have still rolled in, all though not with guns shooting. Okinawa is in such a strategic location that it will never go without a fairly large military presence no matter who is manning the bases.
    Santorum is right wing because he thinks the government should not be able to tell a Catholic hospital they have to provide and pay for things like abortions? Give me a break. The American government cannot tell any business what they must and must not sell. That is a vast overreach and breaks one of the fundamental laws set down in the Constitution.
    I wouldn't be particularly nice to foreigners who wanted to work in my country then blast it for everything they dislike. I like living in Japan and will continue to do so. I guess I never expected Japanese culture to be prefect, nor do I look down on people for being different. I have found in my many travels to different countries that you mostly get out of your experience what you put in to it. I saw native English speakers in Germany complaining about the exact same kind of crap. Seen it in Korea as well. Going to a country and expecting them to cater to you is very futile.
    The US Navy did not have to put all the ships at Yokosuka out to sea to avoid radiation. Whoever printed that information in the first place were telling outright lies. Most the Ships at Yokosuka during the tsunami left to help with the clean up and stabilizing the nuclear power plant.
    I agree with Cleo, I hear all these kind of things yet in real life I have never come across it. All most everyone my wife knows is a little jealous of her for having an American or foreigner Husband. Her mom and dad dont speak hardly any Japanese so I learn little by little and they try to learn English. Thats the real secret, if they think you are trying to meet them in the middle, it's been my experience that Japanese people will also work on meeting you in the middle. But to go to another country and expect everyone to learn the foreign language, is that not a bit rude? I have always encouraged my wife to go and visit with her parents as often as she can, because you never know when the last time you see someone will be the last time. The close family values and closeness of relatives is something I strongly admire about not just Japanese but most Asian cultures, it is something I think Americans should emulate, like we used to. But to marry a Japanese woman and then to turn their back on the tight knit family it throwing away the best aspect of marrying a Japanese woman, in my humble opinion.
    I like raising my kid in Japan because I think its a far superior environment to most the big cities in the states for families. I like and prefer the shower rooms and the separation of the shower and toilets. I like the bidets. My daily life did not change so much. The much larger change in my daily life came from me moving from rural Texas to big honking Wiesbaden Germany.
