i guess new zealand won a rugby tournament. Although no one at my office talked about it or even knew about it so i guess it wasnt any big event

actually in australia rugby is not a popular sport. It is probably ranked number 5 or 6 in terms of popularity, so for someone from New Zealand trying to prove how big they are it doesnt make much of an impact on most of the population.

The better side won. end of story. please get over it and watch the great teams play out to find out who really is the best in the world. I am glad that Japan is now in the top 10 teams in the world as they are still in it. go japan.

The main difference is that Football is a flowing sport where the action happens quickly. On the other hand Rugby is a stop-start sport which has only the one direction of play

it is a little strange comparing FIFA to Rugby League. I mean Rugby League is a minor sport and it is always easier to introduce things in sports that most people dont care about. I am sure if they introduced it in Football there would be quite a lot of debate.

I think that if they had been given the point, then Germany wouldve come out really strong in the final period of the game. it was lucky for England Germany wasn't trying too hard because they already had the game wrapped up.

To all those who think it wouldn't have made a difference if that goal had been correctly awarded...
At 2-1 down we had an attacking free kick and threw everybody forward. We lost possession, Germany countered and it was 3-1. Moments later it was 4-1. Do you think that, had the game been level at 2-2, England would have thrown so many men forward for a free kick?
We didn't just lose because of the refereeing but to suggest it didn't make a difference to the final result is either naieve at best.
Please get over it. you guys lost so why do you keep thinking that it would've made a difference. Germany were so much better it was a laugh to watch the English play. I couldn't believe the last goal when everyone could see what was going to happen except for the English players walking down and not covering their men.

I don't know why everyone is upset. the far better team won which is good for football. the Germany team were sensational with great teamwork. the England players didn't work together at all when attacking. they all tried to do it by themselves. the disallowed goal didn't change the result at all. i am looking forward to going to the pub and listen to the English cry into their beers. hahaha

actually Germany won by 3 goals. So in the end the disallowed goal didnt change the result. It was a good game, but the far better team won which is always a fair result. The goals scored by Germany were the result of great teamwork and skill. This was something that England lacked.

actually japan is one of the strongest teams in asia so that should hold them in good stead against the other teams from other continents. i guess a lot of people will be eating their words when japan does progress to the semi-final stage.

The simple fact is that baseball is not able to keep supporters once they see more exciting and international sports. It is not the most exciting sport to watch and that is putting it mildly. They only played it because america played it. Now japan is becoming more international and therefore sports fans have moved to Footbal.

I am pretty sure that is the way it happens in most other countries. A criminal is spotted by the public and they contact the police. Japan is the same so stop blaming the police for letting him go. He has probably sat next to you on the train and you didnt do anything.

Congratulations to the japanese police force. they have done a terrific job. It is quite funny that all the people who never had a good thing to say about the police are on here thinking they were the ones who found him. In the end it was the japanese police with the help of concerned japanese citizens. Remember it was not a foreigner who helped but the fantastic people of japan. Well done. Also had to have a laugh at the guy before who admitted he has been locked up in japan and then says all bad things about the police. Well they caught you so they cant be all bad.

Of course he would say that to try to get some people thinking it will be a success. I was at the game and everyone i spoke to after the game said it wasn't that good. It will be difficult to get people to like rugby if that is what every game is like. a very boring spectacle.

I will be watching rugby for the first time. I hope that they have instructions on how the game is played otherwise not many people will know what is happening. also most of my japanese friends dont know about the game. I guess they arent promoting the game to japanese people. The only people who will be there will be australians and new zealanders i expect. should be easy to find a seat then.

I am from australia and will be watching a rugby game for the first time. I have spoken to a lot of japanese and they dont really know about the game. i will be surprised if many people go to the game. Hope the weather is good and that might get a few more people to the game. I also hope they have explanations about the rules before the game starts. should be interesting anyway.

What a great win for Japan. They have handed out 2 big thrashings in the last week. They are really getting ready to peak at the right time. You can see how well they are playing now. They have some big stars who play in Europe now, so they will do very well next year in South Africa.
