One what? One lay? One huband? One wife? ....Yawn..... I admit Im spoiled-I get to watch over my kids. But not spoiled like the women in this article, or some people who comment here, and wish they could lie about the time. Breakfast done here today, clothes hung out, not gonna do much cleaning today excpet the screens-use the hose in this hot weather, and play with the kids in the water. Surfing? Now thats an idea, could be fun!

I asked why stop now, because I was wondering if it was economic....
Oh and for the plusses of raising your children, in case you suspected it was all boring; like when your 3yo learns to skoot the skooter, and his play knows no bounds(unlike a boardroom-where you may want to discuss that buying 2 sets of crayons is in fact quite the strategic mindset of economics, and maybe you didnt realize that any business of minding children that age demands that there is a set for each child).....and you are his only partner for the day, and you find your right leg gets so numb, that you learn to use your left leg, and your 3yo is still playing at skooting, and you think those aerobic ladies would not be able to keep up (and you discreetly wonder how you can numb your husbands legs), and you get to see the wonders of your 3yo and a skooter. Or after colouring in for years, your now 5yo brings to you her colouring book, so carefully coloured you start to contemplate the word art. And when she adds, there is only 2 pages left, and you know that will be a days worth, and you wonder at how 3 years ago when there was 2 pages left and the rest was scribble upon scribble you wouldve easily tossed it, and you realize how far youve come and accomplished as a mother. Or what about when your 2 yo lies down on her stomache in the middle of the kitchen floor(half-clean) and is engrossed in 'reading' a book that she cant possibly read, but because youve read it a zillion times(probably couldnt finish it the first million times cause itd be whipped out of your hands....)and she is grasping the straws of learning.... No Japan gal, you dont get it. Thats okay. Did you know they had a special on StarWars on tv today-the primary aged kids knew it. And bluewitch settle down-enjoy your last stages of pregnancy-I know I am:)You really do only need to discuss it wth Mr bluewitch, my point was being said for I was wondering if there was a ideology of economics or otherwise(like population) that makes you even state your affairs here. Be warned, Japan Gal would certainly tempt you that way (probably not meaning to though).....Yasukuni tries to be fair but the argument always arises when, as I said earlier, the numbers get to probably somewhere where youre at now, 3-4-5, maybe 6. After that, you start to see how Japan gal and co, want to understand, but dont really.

Oh and about this article- Honey do you mind going back to work? Honey do you mind having another child? Is how Id answer-if the answer to the first one is yes then the second question gets a yes, and if the first question is answered with a no, then the second question gets a no. There! that should deal with this silly article.

oh kaptainkichigai get off the slutty picture, Japan gal hasnt provided any evidence yet either-too bad she/he missed Steve's links before. Blue witch-why do you say this is your last?? You say you only do light shifts-you should take a lesson from the granmas talking in the hatakes. There is a lot of young women around having a family. I often see the men, and they look young-younger than the women in image. It is in essence when you get to the 3-4-5 child mark that economics will push you both, and priorities will be contemplated. Issues arise. Blue witch would set an example that says, you-know-the-mind-numbing-activities-that-you-do-with-kids, well they are only possible if you do them out of the house spending cash for entertainment, rather than thinking of how to do that yourself. Or to live with the what-is stimulating-for-a-a-child-but boring-for-a-adult, activities. Movies can be a a good break from them sort of activities-you can not watch the movie yourself though. You know like the ones where you teach your 3yo how to throw and catch a ball, when probably 90% of the time your chasing the runa way ball rather than playing catch. Or like colouring in with a 2yo where youve designed every flippin page; or the 2yo finishes the picture within 5 minutes, and what are you supposed to do with the next 55minutes.....need anymore samples?!?! And Japan gal this age kid is not ready for the socializing you are suggesting-get 2 2yo who both want a red crayon and you better have 2!!! Japan gal conveniently gets that part mixed up. But what it seems to me that Japan gal is pointing fingers at, and which would blend with Steves argument, is that women ought to not work their husbands work but tend to their child. Deal with the occassional boredom, or find stimulating activities, or mix them up do some housework and if need be take a nap at times. If your husband is the candlestick maker, let HIM make the candles, even if you can see that the design would be better with a pretty pink colour, let HIM work that out when he sees how nicely you use the candle and show it off to the world and your kids.

They just don't realize how easy their lives are. Yeah I always get to that point, and then I wonder if it isnt a competitive society streak. And I have no idea why they dont take that competitiveness into the bedroom. Like dont they like their husbands? If I had the time and energy of some, I have a huge list of 'Things to Do in the Bedroom with my Beloved". Im sure no style of condom would hold-up to the play! I dont think it is a Japanese thing either.
But about monies. I agreee with Steve too. Even Nicky's little chuckle doesnt sway me. Monies and how they are handled do vary for gender roles. Women are more likely to run their monies, well, like women. Men are more likely to run their monies on how much they think they can work and earn. therefore women will cross their t's, and especially if they have kids, versus men who will be strategic. I think women can be strategic too, but in a marriage, the man is better to lead, as Steve says, and as the term no brainer suggests, women give birth to children. If the man hasnt the strategy of the woman, then the woman needs to wait for the man to get that strategy, and realize that you probably chose your husband for other good qualities. What might work for Spida, is not what I would call ideal family situation, or that normal, and in fact would probably suggest, or ask about living in your own-Australia-country, to really test the theory of what Spida is suggesting.

Go WillB....and besides Ive heard of J.psychiatrists who are very dedicated, and are against just handing out medicines-theyre probably the ones not interested in english. Cause Ive also heard of J psychiatrists doing prac work overseas, and as johninnaha says seems like dimwits that youd rather not have treating you and they have learnt to hand out pills.....But I agree, labelling this guy racist is silly. If he commited the act out of his own country, you could probably consider that word, but Id rather say that he wasnt a very happy Norwegian.

Masswipe jut placed Sweeden and Norway in the same boat about education-what that fails to acknowledge is exactly how different they are and how Sweeden is a lot more dictating about how education is to be acquired. Very different. Then along comes Tokyo Cherry(really) and talks about Australia being what? Stat talk-that we all know can be formed however you like it.In fact drop the Tokyo and you sound like a total cherry about Christianity. Australia may not have a history to preserve-though thank goodness there is the Aboriginals, and I might add how well are they assimilated?-and may seem multicultural in race, but it has a long way to go about being multicultural about idealogies. Oh they will claim that that they are very multi-ideal, they have gay tolerance. Wow. Ask if they tolerate a large family, and hear the pin drop. Ask how education ought to be acquired, and hear the pin drop. Australia is a farce of multiculture, and wake up time is probably just around the corner. America nad Australia are about as different as Sweeden and Norway where multiculture is concerned. On one side, they rule freedom and righteous ness, and on the other they allow freedom and rule the people after their own self-determining decides righteousness. In fact you could say the same for the Muslim and Christian religions perhaps. One will allow multiculture/multi-ideals, one will govern an ideal held way that tries to determine multiculture. Whatever-very different.

Oh hi. Thanks. Yes I have been sorta. Yeahyeah I know the Republicans had Bush and how much he was despised, in fact, I often wondered at his tactics, but yk what, Ive been wondering lately if it isnt more to do with economics and the sort of country that uses taxes versuses a country that well is more capitalist.....So I havent come to any quick conclusion about capitalism, but figure as I stated, when youre at the bottom, up is the only way to go-provided you arent lazy and all. But countries that tax and how those governments then dtermine how that money is used has really got my bejeebers going. My silly country taxes like crazy and then gives handouts to non-locals, okay Australia, and then pulls a pity party as an excuse, and I wonder why cant I get rid of my accent so people would stop guessing Im Australian, cause I cant even get a flamin english textbook worth. but Im supposed to say its humanistic(is that a word) to be nice and offer english lessons to foreigners for free from Australian taxes. In the meantime, every capitalist like country gives hand me out english essons to the pity party group. And actually Im at the point that I dont even want to call it english anymore......So capitalism seems to me, especially if its a matter of working and scrimping, what I could handle. Thus the Republicans seem rather enticing to me. And while I wouldnt call the democrats stubborn, the ball does seem to be in their court now, thus I used the word stubborn. And it would be kinda fun to get off this economic train ride that we are on now, and get a look at the scenery

I think frost had a point about what he was saying-like SWeedes and German and Norway all have an affinity with cheese and cold weather right? Yet there would be reasons that they differ, especially say Germany and SWeeden versus Norway in education. While there is still assimilation going on within countries bordering each other, and the world communicates more globally, it would seem that Norway is a little far from Muslim countries for such large numbers of immigrants. This is what I dont understand. Unless the Muslims and Chinese are having a competition for being known to have a restaurant in everytown around the world. In which case couldnt they just yk migrate to each other-hello! silk road anybody......

So how stubborn are the democrats? I was kinda looking forward to a economic downturn-well what is frothed about, but maybe the situation would be more dire than that.....but yk when youre at the bottom the only way is up, so was looking forward to seeing what was classed as dire.....without any wars ofcourse. So I dont think this is a very good way to think, can any body enlighten me where Im not seeing it straight.

coulda been tinted windows-anyway besides this tradgedy, it is really deplorable all the judgemental remarks that get thrown around here. You do not want a law about leaving your children in the car. You do not want the municipal educating parents-besides what they already do. If you do want this are you saying that there is only one way to parent, and that everybody should parent their children the same way? Those who go as far as suggesting sterilization are, in my books, no better than these culprit parents. And I wouldnt mind gambling on the point that if those who are mouthing off ever had met the culprit parents before this incident, that they would be more than likely to snob them in the first place, would have been judgemental, and certainly if they knew they enjoyed pachinko, wouldnt have offered any advice at that time.
I agree with the mobile usage comments-compared to just 10years ago, every parent I see out now has a mobile in one hand.

"That very line of them, "It's out tradition" makes me ROTFL!!!! I was born here 30 years ago and not once I was offered whale or dolphin meats by my parents....."
So what other jobs are there in Taiji? I guess fishing for pet food can be quite embarrassing, but what if the fish for people that you were catching wasnt being bought anymore, I guess there is no choice but to up and move to Tokyo where there is some 'real' jobs. And then a few years down the track you notice that all those who took your fishing jobs and then belittled you cause you had no choice but to make a living from pet food, then move into the area that you left, buying up your property at tuppence worth, and then continue with their dribble -ie. 'a wonderful fishing town beautiful scenery'-and resell it at millions. To just turn around and go somewhere else and start again-just like my parents did.

er um maybe this could kick in the no nuclear energy feeling-change trains back to (is it called) steam engines. They really made the train ride fun. Or stimulate the car business. Or better yet, anyone for cowboy trends? Try cleaning a horses lot of crap up! Bwhaha. Thatd really make JR peeved doncha reckon. Quick, quick clean it up! Dont let anybody see the crap where that horse was parked. They could even possibly get good at timing it, bwhahaha. Too funny; but unfortunately too real.

I guess Japan will just have to go back to making things with their hands rather than using all them gidgety gadgety machines that they are really good at producing. The knowledge of how to do that is in the depths of Japan-unlike Australia where they often have to go learn it-but how lazy are the Japanese? That answer may make me change my answer to no. But I know too many Japanese who debate this issue on their homefront to really want to say that Japanese are lazy. Could be generational though.

still printing something so controversial in school textbooks seems a little bigotted-as if the whole of history is in there anyway, sheesh, skipping that section cant have hurt rather than stirring the pot......testy. Well so be it. Tests need to run both ways between these 2 countries in my opinion. Danger as is in no more kimuchee? Or heads up for skinny gals who have no hips, and the trend.

see maybe Breviek was pushed to a point, it would definitely seem that way eh-one little dictatorship fighting another. And focusing on students-so is education the issue? I dunno but when i meet Europeans or even Africans who say it is normal to speak several languages and it is a indication of multiculture, I start to wonder if it isnt just a competitive streak. Just 15 years ago in my small home town down under I couldnt even find a decent English/Japanese dictionary, let alone some lingo orientated cheap teacher. The internet is now available I know, but initiative is personal and pcs can breed laziness as well. So Breviek I do feel sorry for. I cant excuse his crime, but it would seem his family his country, his fellow countrymen had no place for him. Education.....and just how flexible is it in Europe, Breveik seems awfully educated smart wise, and street wise. What options are available to someone like this in Europe? Norway seems quite flexible compared to some European countries, really, and possibly why Breveik felt he could be heard there......
