Eric has worked hard to better the programme in recent years. Jenni is usual. Just get rid of Charo! The commentators are even alright, but chuck the dog.

Or even a clue about cherry trees. Like how often after theyve bloomed do you actually get some fruit? Any poignant thoughts like that the picnic-ers would not be thinking, I bet. And like when could you climb the tree and pick the fruit anyway? Might be a good time for another picnic!(That sort of talk would be bushido btw-whyohwhydoidoit; keeping my trap shut, maybe having a swish of some beer, or a bowl of ramen, or even a new item of clothing, to help me with it, could be considered youre average interpretation of gaman!)

I think its like a annual Spring picnic, like a BBQ in Summer, and for the Jpanese around me, neither are considered each year unless me the gaijin suggests them! Theyre personal choices, certainly nothing to do with the spiritual. I think bushido and gaman are very different though.

We use our fireplace for more cooking than before-we've been camping in our lounge room. All kerosene heaters have been turned off and we can handle the cold alright. The kids have now become very adept at waking in the middle of the night for a earthquake; I make them get up each time to drill it into them. Before, it was very difficult to wake them and get them quickly standing in alert mode. And I wont be using co-op anymore, because they cant deliver the goods as it would seem other places get first deal, and that has been very inconvenient in considering food and grocery supply.I think I will just stick with stocking the pantry and buying locally from now on, as they seemed to have the goods stocked better than co-op, where I am at.

Foundations are good in concrete, then slopes are manageable, how you roof yourself is individual...domes anyone....or chop down some mountains, they do that everywhere...flexibility of lifestyle is needed in order to rebuild without creating conflict from surrounding parties. Demanding the same and straight away, seems like you havent even taken in the depths of what you have just faced-todays tv stated demands on sizes for underwears; and Im still trying to get my size here, even after living here 20years!

Is that so? I cant be bothered looking up all the details;there always seems to be dirty play somewhere....But a Latin proverb comes to mind. A wise man quietly prepares for war. Of course the emphasis is on the singular, man, not nation, company etcetcetc. I agree with wolfbiscuits, peanut gallery.

Actually, I couldnt be bothered reading all the pitchfork answers; but Id heard that Shimizu-perhaps it was Shimizu, the Head-had wanted to go to Fukushima straight away, but those working there-and perhaps his next in lines?- wouldnt let him come. Lets hope all our workers are as trueblue as those at TEPCO. This would explain his feeling sick to me better than the assumptions that are being floated around here that stem from economic disadvantages. And as for the reactors, Im sure theyre doing what they need to, it hasnt blown up yet, that's quite a feat, in fact I reckon that is pretty incredible and shows how we humans can be a little like supermen-and science does have it's advantages. I am glad that the temporary blackouts WILL be lasting until next year, I really think that people should change their lifestyles at a personal level. The congestion of the cities has gone just a little too far. Infact, this could all be a blessing in disguise to prepare ourselves for the Tokyo earthquake that is overdue-you think that the high rises that have been tested on man-made machinery can reeeeally stand up to an earthquake? I have a lot of doubt. And what about the fires and predicted fire tornadoes, and being trapped up so high, and another tsunami in Tokyos front yard, and food and water supplies etcetcetc. This blessing may make all the reactors prepared for these kind of catastrophe, in order to avoid it, when Tokyo earthquake hits. Im sure TEPCO have learnt their lesson; have you?

Of course it is totally different area of energy business, but while we are at the awareness deepening inspirational talk-why oh why doesnt anyone mention airconditioners and those drug-like dependants-whaaaaaah!.....1700s? well my goats will pull your goods for a fee?

All women were diminutive and never grew old(er)? Come on! The gender issue is everywhere-in every coorporation, and behind closed doors, who really knows what goes on for each individual, no matter their affiliation. From teachers to gangsters there are all types everywhere. So I would offer some advice; if the yakuza think they are as strong as they make out, then they would get their gender issues straight. No I dont mean dominating what sex you prefer, but how you define roles;not just define either, you are or you arent; a wife for example(noting that that definition by your own blood would define it differently to your so called tradition). Bluntly, quit sending your little puripuri-chans around telling me to work, or trying to find my strength to exploit. It really wont work when your regular pachinko goer tells me that I need to work. Or, your old granma wants to check up on what time Ive woken up, or if my washing is done, or tell me that I dont need to teach English, I can cook.; when I just want to play the role of wife and mother, and the only person they have to manipulate me with is your speeding wife who runs up the bills only, or the wife who has to pay the boys to scratch her back; Ive got it right, I will win, I was born into this kind of family, I know how to play. What all the smart arses dont realize is some people dont have choices, and when the crunch comes, do you choose yes or no is the only choice. Yakuza get your choices right, or the bitterness wont end. Helping at these times is normal, I thought the yakuza might have some more balls than that and be able to deal with the gender issue, which is where people get confused....

in fact Im greedy, I like a little bit of all the energies-they all have their plusses and minuses-I just want the real-estates/building industries/government zoning and the consumers to think beyond their tiny boxed land or compartment box spaces-look at the tsunami towns, i mean how crowded in on each other do they have to choose? learn to drive! the hills surrounding the towns stand out as eye-sores, in the depths of despair that is occurring.

Im dreaming that the power cuts last to summer, and it teaches everybody about not relying on air-conditioners and temperature gauged lifestyles,(grinning at that sweat) counrty lifestyle increases in quality and value, screw the trains and any necessity of riding them, spread businesses further out, not so much conjestion and all you need-with the added benefit of deliveries-in your local rural heaven....solar or wind would be more feasible because people wouldnt be living on top of each other, nor business, and fighting for 30 square foot of crappy land hid by your neighbouring skyscraper

Well the talk all of a sudden has become hard to see who is saying what. But iruasutralia, that freedom of speech gives you the right to give me counsel in that you have more marbles in your head, and then to threaten the situations given, at me. Really the examples, and the way I read the english, only states the third example as a prank. And that's the one eveyone seems to really be thinking about. The first two examples, dont even really make sense. If the person next to you at the theatre yelled fire, surely you would see it too. Or some smoke. And if itwas yelled loud enough from the other end of the theatre that you could hear, and there was no fire, there would be intent. Same for the beach-or maybe there is confusion with a dolphin, Ive done that as a kid, nobody heard me though. The plane situation stands out alone. If I heard someone joking about it-I think I would ask them are they serious and let them see my fear. If they conitnued in prank the intent would be obviously self-condemming then-yes flying doesnt seem fun these days-and I as a paying customer ought to speak up to attendants then. Saying nothing also puts onus on witnesses, particularly in public situations. Everybodies vigilance is better than controlled speech. And it is always then possible to ask why somebody isnt vigilant-hopefully with a concerned heart.

Posted in: Does freedom of speech include the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater, yell "Shark" at a beach or joke about having a bomb on a plane, for example?

I voted yes; taking note that responsibility lies with the speaker, doesnt mean that saying it is wrong. Does freedom of speech mean that not saying anything is okay. Like in any of these examples if they occurred, if nobody said anything isnt that wrong too? Like "where?", "youre joking?" "Be quiet".Im with globalwatcher-saying nothing is just as loud and havoc causing as yelling any of the examples providied. It's if it is a lie that people dont like freedom of speech, but the truth aint gonna pop out in front of you in silence.

Is that right mrsynik? I must admit I missed the news last night. But let me take a guess! They didnt want to have to mention how there is so little people in such a big area. Go on compare the numbers to that of Brazil. People numbers and size of land numbers; its so obvious do I really need to spellt it out. The whole 'Big Australia' or not issue, tends to sway to the Big, in light of the size and numbers. Perhaps the certain European lean of NHK, is starting to trip. How hard do Australians really want to push themselves, I pray they realize how hard theyve been pushed.

There's king tides coming just as the inland water hits the sea-line. It does not look pretty. Australians are so tough. Ive never wanted to farm that area because Im scared of the snakes, and how to handle it. They have much knowledge to share about this. Pray, once this is all over.

I cant hold back my tears, reading the news-this great expanse of land, half Japan! France and Germany combined! and waters running all across the country and there are farmers withheld from tapping into water to irrigate. Its a crime, this ecological mindset. I notice the ABC shows the anniversary of Haiti alongside clips of the devastation the floods. Cant we as people combine ourselvs now? Turn together. Where are our Aussies? Come and pray.
