What are you talking about Australia for. I know they are so uptight about rules for seatbelts, that's why I like it here! And pleeeeeease where is the proven beyond a doubt stats on safety of wearing a setbelt. I think it stinks! I told the policeman last time actually and he laughed!

It is just disappointing that in a time when most young women are scared to have children, that there is always another, and you have to be careful of such and such, tactic.

The father should be held responsible as much as the mother, if not more. This year divorced? That isnt even time for support programs to kick in....3 kids under 3? A 3yo and twins isnt easy for most people to handle alone. This husband father should be held responsible too, I feel for the mother, even though what she did is inconceivable to me.

Geez, wish all of yous would read more before putting your 2 cents behind a upcoming smart-mouthed stupid reporter!

Read about Hirohima victims, and about how much they actually get, including generations after the time.

I think Fukuda's reply was spot on. This guy is just looking to cause trouble (in America these tactics may be necessary, but in Japan people usually listen better and dont lie as much). Fukuda is right, his heart has and is in the job more than this silly reporter-anybody could ask such a simply stupid question.

post partum what?.... excitement, should it not be. what symptons? disgusting self-centered ****** Buddhism....now that talk is interesting! Perhaps, attaining levels of quietness, is only possible for those who have their needs to some degree satisfied first, or have absolutely nothing? Anger, is in the realm of God and reality.

Have any of you dealt with the police and how much here in Japan? The police here are brilliant. They do not judge. They police, as despite that being English, some people don't seem to understand.

No. You are the one saying that. I pointed to discrepency of choice.

And I said, you can ask. I dont like rude riders either. The topic is about giving birth in Japan, how that leads everybodies comments to train riding is off topic.

I dont think I like this book. No I dont want to buy it at all.

And what is supposed to be meant by " quality of Japanese journalism"?

What is "Black Van Men"?.....I think you might have been watching too many movies.

I think visiting the shrine, is not so much an endorsement of activities undertaken, but acknowledgement that, what has happened, has led to today, and this time. Gosh, get over it! Should all war memorial events in any country be stopped? Is it the fault of us now, or Koizumi, that you happen to know "somebody"?

I think this author knows the topic will appeal to foreigners and will get sales, and that is about it

The hurry is because they want to tap into foreign products, and unfortunately translating is way underpaid, especially when said company can then spend a mint on advertising and sales, and really doesnt want translators input, just word for word. Just reiterating really. Yep good writing!

    Riding trains answer.

Lets face it, most of Japan is serviced for necessities. You can climb a mountain and find a drinking machine at the top. If you are pregnant, and the situation I dont deny that there are rude train riders, obviously it is common knowledge, why choose to get on a train, what is the dire need of riding it? The rude riders have a purpose. The preganat womans purpose is what? To get food? I doubt. Doesnt sound like a mother who would be concerned about the child's welfare. And supposing there were a necessity of riding the train, like to the hospital, knowing how it is, you could have someone go with you, or as mentioned, ask to sit down.

Sounds to me like the professionals are trying to get some class back into their work, because of all the crap that is in abundance. In other words their economics are not making turnovers, because the pros know you have to sacrifice all, the crap, dont know where the sacrifice line is drawn.

I think more research needs to be done, there is lots of various practioners for child-birth. Midwifery is very much available. Information is there.

Mostly I agree with cleo, when it comes down to it, when the crunch comes, the support that is there is helpful, but ultimately you do it alone.

How bout not riding trains. Never have in any of my births.

I love Japanese TV. I have my favourite talents. I wonder whether Becky would be considered foreign or Japanese. Doesnt matter to me! I love Japanese TV. Especially the politics.

I really dont understand or like donations. Though for those who are of the mind to do so, it may just sway their decision, though I dont think China and Myanmar would be too worried about that. Hey, this could be a good lesson in the concept of donations.

Posted in: Do you think reports of the Myanmar junta hoarding cyclone relief aid and China's stance on Tibet will make people think twice about making donations to disaster relief in those two countries?

The people arent deciding how much their vote is worth.

They can decide to vote or not, for whatever reason, like the voting is rigged, or they cant get to the ballot box, or they dont like the "contestants", who knows, but silence still has a voice. There are still people out there though with an opinion.

Perhaps I should say, thinking about it, rather than breaking it down more, it would be better to get rid of the prefectural leaders?
