The examples are whiny and petty. Some of these foreigners are the ones with attitude.
Like the Danish guy below, for crying out loud.
"Actually, it’s annoying when many Japanese people show me a product and ask ‘Is this product available America too?’ I have to tell them I’m not American.” (Danish man)

This is a sad cycle and reality. Eventually, we will be in the same situation as these elderly folks and our children will have the same emotions and issues about home care as we do now. I would dread the day when no one would want to take care of me. So, I have promised that I would at least not complain of having to take care of my parents when the time comes- in the hope of breaking a very sad cycle.

Ability to speak English is not the 'be all and end all' of man's existence in this vast universe (and there may be millions of other universes, but that's another topic). Like other posters have said- 'most Japanese don't speak fluent English' and 'there are more Japanese tourists than foreign tourists in Sapporo', so not being able to speak English is not an issue at all. We ought to look at this idea as half full not half empty.

Odagiri need not apologize. And the Korean media ought to have a sense of humor. ' The fan is actually lucky to have Odagiri's 'non-auto' graph - it is unique and therefore has more "value" than a real but ordinary Odagiri autograph.

Do those conmen even research their prey- what if there was no "son" or the "son" had been dead, etc? Worse, what if the intended victim was a yakuza. It seems this is a hit or miss trick.
