There are evolutionary reasons why women prefer older men. If they've survived to middle or old age it probably means they have superior genetics (people with weaker genetics didn't survive to old age). There are lots of young men but because there are lots we don't know which ones are superior yet. Of course, like many evolutionary traits, this shouldn't be relevant in the modern world but still persists.

does this also explain why men are attracted to older woman? wait a minute, men are not generally attracted to older woman. what's up with that? don't we care about good genes? or is it more about how good our partners look in them?

i wouldn't comment on this particular case. i don't know enough of the details. but in general i'm often surprised here in japan by the lack of concern parents/guardians show when kids seem to be putting themselves into dangerous situations.

i have to stop myself from telling strangers' kids to be cautious. my instinct is to act but as an outsider i'm afraid i'd insult someone. so i just watch nervously.

And then you blame Liberals for being hypocrites for defending Obama’s speech?

no i don't blame them at all. of course they should defend there guy.

i'm pointing at the the liberal's mocking conservatives for objecting to obama's speech. saying things like 'they have reached new lows' blah, blah, blah. when in fact it's the same old, same old.

i do go a bit beyond that by suggesting that the Repugs have a much better reason to complain now then the Dumbs did then. we will see if the polls agree with me.

What the arugment shows, is how nutty Americans have become.

more nutty then when exactly? americans (all people) have always been pretty nutty about politics (sports and religion too).

this bothered so many people because of obama's emphasis on himself. 'how can you help the president.' it's not 'what can you do for your country,' it's 'what can you do for me.'

it may be an exaggeration to call it a 'cult of personality.' but not much of an exaggeration. it was a really stupid idea that made obama look pretty bad.

go to onesix.org. I just read where the dems actually held hearings about preventing Bush 1 from speaking...... aday, you lied.

ok i did. it backed up my poingt exactly. the Dumbs had a fit when bush sr adressed the kiddies. and he didn't even try shilling for kiddie support. my point the Dumbs should not ridicule the Rebugs reaction to this unless they first condemn the Dumbs reaction to bush sr.

of course they won't because they are hypocrites.

obama needed to be taken to school on this one. don't mess with the kids. keep politics out of school. he backed down because he had to. he was busted. but it won't be forgotten.

How about pre-reading the speech first before assuming anything?

in fact they did. and that's when it became clear obama was make a pitch to the kiddies. 'how can you help the the president!' give me a break. only a true, starry eyed obama lover could fail to see how ridiculous that was.

bush sr was investigated by the Dumbs when he gave a similar speech (with out the personal call for support). let's hear the Dumbs mock that reaction before they mock Repug cries now.

face it this is another small straw on obama's back. they are piling up, he's going down. and he'll take the Dumbs with him. just like bush did with the Repugs.

when bush sr gave his speech to the kiddies way back when he didn't need to be told to keep the weird stuff out. he didn't try to petition them for 'help.' still the Dumbs cried foul over the idea and even held congressional hearings on the matter.

today's Dumbs seem to want to forget all that. amazing how slanted and prejudiced some people can be.

“write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.”

obama got busted. what a hack job!

of course the right wing is over reacting. why not? over reacting was mighty effective for the Dumbs last time around. it sure seems to be working for the Repugs this time. just watch those numbers fall.

by the time we get to 2010 the Dumbs will surely be suffering at the polls.

How difficult is it to figure out the Japanese language menus?

LOL! even with an english menu there is a pretty steep learning curve on these new cameras. if you want to just point and shoot fine. but if you often dig into the system forget about it.

has anyone tried loading an english version firmware into a japanese camera?

Amazingly how customers suddenly loose all traces of intelligence when it comes to ask for something for free and say "it is no problem to give me that for free"...

free? these cameras are hardly free. including the english menus would in fact be virtually free. panasonic already have english menus in their software for the export cameras. it probably costs them more release different versions. probably to protect markets.

let's face it, there are a lot of non-reading residents in japan. even the non-english speaking residents would buy a camera if it had an english menu (a lot easier than japanese). but if panasonic wants to shut out those thousands of residents that is their choice. just buy an olympus e-p1. they include english menus. and it looks a lot nicer too.

i understand why people may be opposed to plain. honestly i know very little about her, i'm waiting until we get closer to an election. why waste energy on her now?

but i am really disturbed by the attack politics, the politics of personal destruction. it's really ugly.

arrogance can be very self destructive. bush had a problem with it. many of his supporters were blind to it but the average american was turned off by it.

the libs are so carried away with themselves they can't see their own arrogance. they ought to be careful, it could come back to bite them.

aren't there better ways to run elections and politics?

Anyone dense or intellectually dishonest enough to believe that the above, stupidly-written sentence portrays reality deserves very little in the way of slack.

i have the solution. get cnn to print a retraction and i'll be glad to accept my error.

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- A Florida Court dealt a major blow Monday to Vice President Al Gore's legal efforts to challenge the results of Florida's presidential election.

Leon County Circuit Court Judge N. Sanders Sauls ruled that the evidence presented by Gore's legal team does not establish any gross negligence or fraud in the balloting process, or prove that alleged problems with the voting would have changed the outcome of the election.

i did not have sexual relations with that woman, i didn't inhale and i never challenged the results of the 2000 election.

What has my being in France have to do with you being completely off-topic ranting and raving about Bush, Rush Limbaugh or Al Gore, or mentioning your status being number one troll here sporting his fifteenth handle since being "banned" 2006? The size of Minnesota, Norway, the Commonwealth........jesus buddy. Wipe the screen and saty on topic.

    who's off topic now?

Maybe not, but it was bush that led to the need for it.

here's your chance to educate us conservatives. and everyone else who may be confused.

exactly what was it that bush did which led to the world wide economic collapse?

    thanks for your considered reply.
