just yesterday a little boy, about this age, ran in front of my car. luckily i saw him coming and slowed down soon enough to avoid him. there was some sort of old timer crossing guard standing there, inches from the kid. my wife pointed out the window at the child, to warn the guard. the old geezer just laughed, as if to say 'aren't kids just too funny.' then the kid darted out in front of another car, just missing being clipped again.

finally the father came back and took his son's hand.

    what a disgrace.

The GOP under McCain would have wanted US forces to baby-sit Iraqi forces for who kows how many more years.

you do realize the troops haven't left the country, right?

The reason you can't tell is because the number is zero.

i wouldn't be surprised if you did it yourself. yeah who reads between the lines and has selective ethical outrage.

Telling your fans that "These judges deserve to be killed”- no, not that they should simply die, say of natural causes, but rather to be killed, as in murdered, for a legal ruling, is a death threat

i can't tell you how many times i read bush or cheney should be killed on websites over the last several years.

i don't think anyone should talk like this. i find it offensive. but i can tell you the left had a free ride against bush. the left can dish it out but they can't take it.

someone once told me a very interesting thing. they said you can judge a person's character by they way they treat their dog.

watching the way some japanese treat animals gives me pause. is this a peek behind the curtain?

it is a brutal world. and to win a war you are right many ugly things happen.

it all comes to down to intentions. when you put a bomb on a bus full of woman and children those are not unavoidable deaths, they are the target. don't be nuanced into blindness.

there is a line between terrorism and the brutality of war.

I don't think you know what you are talking about.

i'm talking about terrorism. are you suggesting terrorism is not unislamic?

i've given up trying to convince you that the regime is not democratic. you want to believe that despite all the evidence. you seem to ignore even your own 'evidence' which clearly says iran has no true democratic process.

so are you now going to defend the use of terrorism?

It is widely accepted by the people who've studied Iran and know it best that the ruling clerics have declared that atomic weapons are against Islam

it was widely accepted that hitler wouldn't invade poland. good grief.

obama is getting ready to announce he wants indefinite incarceration of some gitmo prisoners. just the latest in a series of turnarounds. it's a painful pattern. first he accuses bush of human rights violation then turns around and adopts the same policy himself. same with the military tribunals. and on and on.

this turn around with iran is just more of the same. anyone with a lick of sense knows iran could turn the tables on this obama doctrine. it sounded so easy to criticize bush and to promise a different approach. the media lapped it up. gullible people swooned. well reality is setting in. obama has to back down yet again. he's beginning to look pretty foolish and weak. more and more americans are starting to put the pieces together. his numbers are fading.

    i like this liberal explanation:

"All Obama, all the time: The president is getting overexposed By JOEL CONNELLY SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF

If President Obama's job approval ratings begin to dip, the cause isn't likely to be disapproval of policies so much as the public getting exhausted at an overexposed presidency."

they are smothering him with gooey media love. it's hysterical.

A war with Iran would be disastrous too

this thread is not about strating war with iran. it's about backing up protesters tying to get democratic control of their country.

i guess for you, and the regime you so fervently support, fair and open elections would also be disastrous. what a shame to spend so much energy backing a totalitarian regime.

even the book you sited to back your position says the regime clearly blocks any real democratic process. do you selectively read between the lines? have you no shame?

let me get one thing straight, i believe you are an intelligent and sincere person. i think i can say the sentiment you expressed is small minded without it being a personal attack.

and i never attacked you because of your language skills or country of origin, that charge by dumbass, i mean gooddonkey is just ridiculous. i merely pointed out your statement wasn't clear to me and wanted to be sure i understood you correctly.

let me give you a concrete example of why i think the sentiment you expressed is small minded.

you seem to be saying everything that results from the war in iraq is bad because you think the war was bad. is that correct? i can't say the elections there were good because america is hypocritical, right?

think about this example. earlier you mentioned you support nuclear energy. well consider how it was developed, as a weapon. it seems by your logic you should then reject it. if it was created for a purpose you oppose than no good can come from it. it would be hypocritical.

this why i said the sentiment is small minded. it focuses too narrowly. life is more complicated. i believe you should try to identify the good and bad where you find them.

i think the elections in iraq are a very good thing. and i also believe they may have had an effect on the iranians next door. isn't it just possible after seeing the success of the elections in iraq that they feel they too are entitled to open, fair elections? isn't it at least possible?

    from the LA times

"The Iranian president rebuked his American counterpart Saturday as the two countries fell back into a familiar pattern of back-and-forth barbs that may imperil the Obama administration's plans to open a direct dialogue with Tehran over its nuclear program."

it's funny how some here are so far gone with supporting this regime that they are stating positions which could almost be seen as condemning their hero, obama.

why can't obam let the iranians decide their own fate for crying out loud? doesn't he realize the iranians want to settle this the iranian way. my goodness what will he say when the purges start?

better get your spines ready for some extreme gymanstics guys.
