The next time I see rude people chastising other rude people for being rude I'm going to rudely punch them in the face.

    It's all about expectations.

Japan would be delighted to get out of the group, and that's all they can realistically hope for.

It's not beyond a fully--functioning Japan team to get results against Cameroon and Denmark.

Beat Cameroon, draw with Denmark, and lose to the Dutch by less than the Danes do.

I like the way the article tells you all the great stuff living bamboo can do, while telling you the number of pople living in houses made of dead bamboo is going to increase.

I truly thought this was a woman at first. I had to click to enlarge the picture before I realised it was Hatoyama.

I'm Irish, and this story just broke today. It will be interesting to see tomorrow's reaction. Today's report shows that when a complaint was made to the poilce, they simply went and reported the complaint back to the clergy. Also, one of the Bishops, who had a degree in civil law, apparently claimed he didn't realise that incidents of abuse should be reported to authorities.

This report comes on the back of a report about 3/4 months ago about the total failure of the state to protect children in orphanages or other kinds of care from abusers who were...surprise surprise....members of the Catholic church.

What made waves that time was that the govt agreed with the church that the church share of compensation deals would be capped at €126 million. Considering the estimated total liability will be in the region of €1.3 billion, people are already extremely angry with the church.

It sickens me, right to my core.

    Neil Warnock,

Japanese players can't make it in England, which with the Premier and Championship have the 2 fastest, aggresive and skillfull leagues in the world.

Hahaha. gotta love this! The Championship is better than La Liga?

J-League is poor enough, though if you are a fan of an actual team that ceases to be as important as if you are just a fan of football. Players who can't shoot from 30 yards trying to shoot from 30 yards won't solve much though.

Yes, my wife and I had my daughter in Japan and were very happy with raising her there (until we had to move away for unrelated reasons).

These football players are overpaid for a very undemanding occupation. They are mostly uneducated idiots

This is what you said, and I'm disagreeing with you that they are mostly idiots.

They used to earn nothing until Sky and Murdoch came along making their own millions out of the game

This is what you said, and I'm disagreeing with you. You have even agreed that they have always earned more than the average salary.

This article is about Nakamura and I am criticising Nakamura and the like who are overpaid and the way he treated his fans from his old club in Japan.

That doesnt mean you can just make up stuff about other players or aspects of the game.

While the explosion in salaries has been quite recent, footballers have been paid more than the average wage for decades.

They are not "mostly uneducated idiots", although they generally don't have a great education. Of the 2,000 or so professional players in England, how many idiots can you name? "Mostly" would suggest you can name about 1,500.

Nakamura should be booed at international games because he chose to prolong his career at a higher level? Should he be booed by fans of other J-league teams? Or only Marinos fans?

Not all Jews live in Israel, not all Israelis are Jews. Yet there exists, and has existed for a long time, the idea that to criticize the state of Israel is somehow anti-Semitic. To say that at least some of the actions carried out by the Israeli state military in Gaza means you are intolerant of a religion.

Wish i had been there and could have hurt a few coppers and smashed some capitalist scums building up. There weren't enough demonsrators , a day of anarchy is needed to show the big wigs that people power can work.

The geezer who died was probably a victim of pollice violence.

What would you have used to smash the buildings? A capitalist baseball bat, a capitalist brick? Or your bare anarchist hands?

    Tough man.

    Magpie -

I hope the parents of the baby (boththe father and mother) get the jail sentence that they deserve. Maybe whilst in jail, they can think through on what a despicable act it is that they have done.

How do you know that father (even if he knows he is/was the father of this baby, which we don't know) was complicit in this crime?

“The state of Israel did everything in order to avoid hitting civilians.” Olmert said.

    > Except not fire on buildings where they had admitted knowing civilians, as well as Hamas, were occupying.

But to build a case against only Israel is ridiculous. Hamas rocket fire into Israel also needs to be prosecuted.
