globalwatcher, yen would not be at 50-60 today if Japan didnt sell the yen. Come on, get real! Japan doesnt have the monetary power to fight against all these counterparts.

these "currency terrorists" are no more than big money selling weaker currencies and putting their money into the yen as it is backed by so much savings. i would do the same thing.

@ironchef I am in Chuo-ku (as central as it gets), I had to convince myself that there was anything. If my phone didn't go off, I wouldn't have noticed it. Funny that we're both central and one of us felt it definitely and the other didn't.

@hansnfranz and i am in Minato-ku, pretty central Tokyo...helps that i am on a high floor.

shindo is a more relevant measurement than magnitude. I think people feel the shaking and are affected by it more rather than the actual power of the earthquake. As such, it would be good to include shindo in articles, especially for Japan earthquakes.

i would rather these obese passengers pay for 2 seats rather than this fat tax. I hate getting stuck sitting either next to or between one of these people and have to squeeze into my seat. I paid for a full seat, not half a seat. it has happened often while traveling in the US.

i dont mind consumption tax increase that much but leave my income tax alone. also, agree that it should be a VAT, tax on non-necessities.
