Look at how her knees are bent inward. That's a classic, essential power stance for almost all sports. Indeed, this shows a very creative thought/physical process on Frances team. I wonder if this is the FIRST Time such a combination has been performed. If so, let's give them all due credit for entering a new realm in the sport/medium!

Toyota represents literally a million jobs world wide. I hope they don't go under, otherwise unemployment is going to skyrocket. We're all in this together.

MoBass4u, not bad. I thought I was reading a Christmas carol like "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house"... As the old saying goes, "you gotta hand it to him".....Maybe a flock of J-Policewomen will get his cell phone and give him a call?

Good point Dick Morris. He says what he wants because America allows freedom of speech. I think he should go on a fast for one month or more, then eat only brown rice for 6-months to a year, come down to a more "everyman" weight, and THEN tell us what he thinks about the world!

Concerning smithinjapans year or two in the klink, that would cause CONSIDERABLE noise from the HAWKERS and others, I'm sure. Isn't there some law prohibiting anpan and chocolate given to people in the jails? If not there should be. They should be on a strict diet of nattto (which I like by the way, but those in kansai area do not), and squid.

Yes, its a bundle of laughs here on this archepelago and more than that in the big cities. Being one of the "elite" (just joking) I go through the main stations of Shibuya and Shinbashi everyday. Talk about a zoo. A J-policeman friend of mine reminded me, "Remember when you go through places like Shibuya station just remember, 99.9% of the Jpn never have a chance to travel through there, so when the do its like a Marti Gras". That's exactly what it feels like. Don't expect not which way of manners. Its a foot in front of the next one at a time, and in and out, anything (almost) goes. Shinjuku, ikebukuro, Tokyo Station, Ueno and others I'm sure are just like this. This is Japan. They love to congregate and all xxxx hits the fan. When I asked a J-friend about it, he just answers "I don't know why". What I hate the most is when people smell bad or fart on the crowded trains, but what are you going to do? Secondly, I hate when they don't budge away from the doors, and for you to get to the middle where there actually is some space they all frown at you like your a trouble maker, because you have to butt them aside to get through. What else can you do? Its either that or get squashed like a sardine near the doors. Lord knows what is common sense, and what is education?

Why is it that murder of young women keeps getting done so often? Or isn't "often" when compared to other countries. It still makes one blood run cold to read about another precious life cut down in her prime, but an obvious loser, scum, what else can we say?

Maybe Hatoyama the former minister was right to enforce death penalty so strongly. Why do these people seem to get away so easily, and then brazenly withdraw money fron the victims account. And he's probably on a train that you and I are riding. But is this the way it is in every country. I think Japan has to become more strick with penalties on law, and somehow improve womens place in this society.

How about just kicking the dude out?! Why the stabbing? Just get adamant that no more money is going to flow. One thing that needs to be considered is the brainlessness of the life here in Japan, especially for the young. They have NO WHERE to go, nothing to do, and now no money to make options for themselves. I can only pray that when the holy grail of income dries up for the foreign community here, they have saved enough to go back to their home countries and survive for 6-months to a year, and see how difficult the job market is there! When the money runs dry here, this place can be suffucating to say the least, even for Japanese. I believe that's an underlying point of this story that no one is touching on. This culture, for all its wabi-sabi and ware-ware, is in deep trouble once the money chain stops rolling in anyone sectors dimension. Try handling the deep recession and no jobs situation that exists today, and its everyone for themselves, follow the system and if your lucky you'll get protected by it, if not your french toast period kit kabodle.

Torikuru and eugenics seem to have hit the nail on the head. Its really a laugh that to a person, Japanese will say "we're shy", or "we're so polite", "we don't have to speak to each other because we can understand without speaking." That's what those youngsters sitting on the silver seats playing with their games are thinking right? It seems they are polite when they are forced to deal with foreigners, but as eugenics reminds us, when they are together in public, watch out for the cut-off, butt-in, bag swipe, and all the rest. Chivarly on the trains?

OK. so all those righteous ones out there will say, "oh we have to give him due process of law for OUR sake". In this pitiful one, and I never thought I'd get to this point, but I have to be honest and say, just let him rot/starve, or whatever way he wants to go, ala Mirua-style is also ok!

sfip330, again. Think of Okinawan history. Before they didn't want the US bases, they didn't want the Japanese gov't telling them what to do. That was before WWII. Shall we say, things have changed?

Thanks The sicilian, I was beginning to think Oshiro had a point. But he DOES go way over the line with his generalizations about ALL american cities bla, bla, bla. For all the criime that does occur, USA is deals with it and carries on. We bring in refugees and give them a new home. People who come in from other countries, are grateful and honored to be Americans. Just talk to some of them. Sure there are problems. Which country and which human race is without them. But to a great majority, life is pretty xxxx much better than it ever could be here. Its a matter of perspective, and adjustment. Anyways, all American soldiers are not criminals. Far from it. They have honor and are for the most part decent human beings.

Her glasses from Japan were her only distinguishing feature. And I wish she'd stop harping on that "hockey mom" identity. Give me a friggin break. How about all the mothers of OTHER Sports, who never glory their childs involvement in something like that. Culture, sports, music and other arts are all part of our lives. NO ONE person has the dibs on being a ______ mom/dad. I think she repeats this for lacks any thing more important to say.
