The Honda Classic is big enough to draw Woods. Give Yang some credit for winning it.

Thats two wins for Yang against Woods. That's a great fluke! Remember Phil Mickelson? Next to Woods he's the greatest player alive in my opinion. He only has 3 wins! Lots of runner-up positions though. Woods is in a class by himself, but 2 losses to Yang? That's no fluke!

Wow, not too many people here know much about the 2 Koreas and their histories... or the Japanese... or the Chinese... history may have already set a precedence in how a war and its aftermath would unfurl... if it doesn't go to (western) plans.
Japan wants stability in the east. They don't want the 2 Koreas to unite after an offensive by SK, Japan or whoever, unfortunately. Remember, a united Korea would have the largest army in the world, with most men over the age of, say, 22 years old having had military training. Remember what Japan did in Korea during its annexation years? Uniting the 2 Koreas will inevitably bring nationalistic feelings to its citizens... also bringing back some reminders of yesterday's injustices and wrongdoings.
China wouldn't want the largest army sitting next to their borders either for obvious reasons... maybe not obvious to everyone.
The US does not want a larger rogue nation, just in case the ideology changes in a united Korea.
If the two Koreas unite, expect major butt-kissing from major players in the region to persuade a united Korea to be their "friend."
It's a nightmare scenario if a war goes bad. If the two nations write a treaty and remain two, then most in the region would call it a day.

Oh yeah, congratulations to Ahmadinejad! Anyhow, how does Khamenei get his hand up Ahmadinejad's backside to control his moving lips? I'm sure the second term is easier.

Den Den,
What change? The police are still beating on the Iranian citizens and there is no freedom. No change there.
When has he ever addressed the poor and the uneducated? He is one of them... well, now he has a fat bank account in Switzerland, but he's still uneducated! He should attend an online school at least...
Now you're thinking just like Ahmadinejad. Someone's always out to get him. I bet he's taking small doses of arsenic to strengthen his system. I wish he would screw up his dose with a large one. I'm tired of his rhetoric. Anyway, what country is trying to destabilize Iran? Iraq? USA? Canada, the Brits, EU... Isreal? The Klingon Nation is more of a threat!

This is a crooked regime like that of North Korea. Nothing we can do to change the "divine assessment." But who the frick are you Khamenei, to know what God wishes for your people? Unless you are God or have a Bat-phone to direct you to the Big Man upstairs, you are Beelzabub's next of kin.
I said before that Ahmadinejad will be back to selling kabobs on the street, but I see now that nobody in Iran would buy them, so he tried hard for a second mandate of mayhem.

grafton,
Grafton, the dead man was in his 50s. It's in the 1st line of the 2nd paragraph of the article. OK, I guess if you're in your 50s, then I take back calling him an old man.

Just ask the old man's family or friends if the phone voice (obviously recorded by the police) sound like the man in question. This is obviously strange and or suspicious as everyone suspects, so let's confirm his voice and then move onto other clues (fingerprints on the note, writing style, etc). And then who knows if the "real" killer(s) will be caught by Nagano troopers?

I had mentioned the US, SK & maybe UK going at NK alone, but what I was trying to do was make a point that Japan would not be in an offensive mode.
During the K-War (1950-1953), there were almost 20 countries on the allied side doing everything from combat to troop support. It's idiotic to assume only 1 or 2 countries would attempt to support SK in a new Korean War effort since UN involvement is a certainty.
If you know ancient Korean history, Turkey will be in there for sure (ancient allies). Japan will support. Canada, USA, EU and many Asian nations will also be a part.
On the NK side... Al Qaeda, original Klingons from the 60s, Jabba the Hutt, the Devil, Beelzabub, Cylons, Dracula & friends, the Joker, Hannibal Lecter, the Fang, Goldfinger, Jeong-Il's left hand, Jeong-Il's haircut, Teletubbies... wow, now I'm not so sure who has more friends? China & Russia will support for old time's sake maybe.

Someone mentioned the Japanese army going into Korea. Funny, but it's not going to happen. The last time the Japanese army went into Korea with weapons, they nearly castrated a nation of unwilling participants. The US and SK will do fine by themselves... well the Brits are always aching for a fight.

Yes, the ROK soldiers are tough. Ask any US soldier who has spent time training with them in South Korea. Almost every male in SK over the age of 22 have a military service record and know how to shoot a gun. If you have to mobilize all military-trained men and send them to the border (same for NK), there will be a long stand-off for sure... not sure if war will ensue.
The NK soldiers are also very tough. If you've seen both SK & NK soldiers facing each other at the JSA you will instantly notice that NK soldiers stare right at the SK soldiers who wear big ass sunglasses. Apparently, SK soldiers can't win a staring contest against the commies. I'm not sure if that's true, but the SK soldiers stand with a fierce modified-Tae Kwon Do Stance.
However, let's talk about this. China & Russia, having been the newest kids on the economic block, will they risk their new found success to protect a decrepit old murdering regime? What will they do to the US & its allies if they do anything to provocate NK (it could be as simple as a SK/US soldier's shadow crossing the JSA. It's happened)? Will they side with NK or side with world opinion?

I'm sure there are cases where a foreign father gets custody because the mother realized that she couldn't afford to raise the children herself. This becomes about her survival all of a sudden. The JGov will use these numbers to defend themselves naturally.

I bet getting back to the Kyoto Accord or talking about robots sounds good right about now. Sure Japan wants to be seen in a pure light, but it seems to escape them.
Timtak,
We can mention the "occasional extramarital 'dalliance' of the Japanese and the low divorce rate in Japan, but we are really contemplating about international marriages and child abduction? The two parents in question are of different nationalities, one being Japanese. Does everyone have to change their views on religion or decency so that we can accommodate Japanese rational and eventually marry them?
Japanese children may not be saved from social damage after all, if some of them start buying used panties in Akihabara or they don't move away from home because they have otaku tendencies.

GoodDonkey,
You only choose to quote only a portion of the truth. After the GUI lawsuit Gates invested in Apple! Why, when MS was looking at Apple from 6 feet up? Go to your archives and pull out a couple of pages from tech resources as well as the dailies – you gain perspective on the day to day arguments and the side agreements made by Gates (MS) at the time. Most of the issue between Apple and MS were solved out of court, including the $150000000 question. Half truths are just as much of a lie.
