It would be awesome to be on the cover of MAD magazine! I'm sure he likes it too, if he knows about it. Do kids these days know about MAD?

I agree with Tamarama. There's good and there's bad. You don't wanna get robbed/raped/assaulted while walking down a street in the middle of the night? Come to Japan. You want drugs? Don't come to Japan.
Said it in another article already: if you can't accept Japanese law, don't go there! Same for Shariah, Thai, Singaporean or any other law.

Etiquette, socially defined and agreed upon rules, take time to form and spread. Have patience people, Facebook is barely seven years old! If you're talking about 2ch style anonymous boards, you're out of luck.
Posted in: Do you think that social networking will ever develop rules and etiquette ("netiquette") that most people will respect?

How ironic that his organization is all about opening up other persons or groups to criticism. Assange is going to get punked by a leak himself!

So do we absolutely NEED to give chocolate? Can I be a romantic and hand out, say, roses to every woman on White Day (disregarding the jealousies that might arise from my different gifting method)?
Posted in: What do you think about the custom in Japan of women giving chocolates to their male co-workers on Valentine’s Day as a form of “obligation,” and then receiving chocolates back from the men on White Day (March 14)?

It's probably cheaper to station a team of mercercenaries (or as they call it these days, a private military security firm) on each ship than to blanket the coast of Somalia with bombs.

Russia visits the Kuriles: bet Kan calls it an "unforgiveable outrage": raise Medvedev says he will send weapons: verbal all-in
Oooooh snap, does Russia have the balls to do it? I've said it before about this, might makes right and Japan is a little inadequate in that department. It could technically be self-defense (and therefore a job for the SDF) but for Russia this is just an opportunity to test out their weapons on some poor fools.

Yo Assange, your 15 minutes of fame is over. What you used to work for--government transparency, freedom of information, whistleblower security--was noble and worth supporting. But now you have let the power and celebrity get to your head, you've been corrupted and now you're a victim of your own hubris. You should have stepped aside long ago and solved your own problems like a man, but instead you tried to use Wikileaks as a shield for your actions, shame shame.

I think that the punishment for the couple should be exactly what they did to the poor little boy. And they should never have contact with him again; obviously it would do more harm to keep him with the mother than to take him away.

I think the best think right now is to break off Sony into little pieces so the most profitable sectors aren't being weighed down by the losers. Of course the Japanese government would never allow such a national face-losing move to happen, but that is the best thing from a business point of view.
Wouldn't shed a tear except for the PS3 and its titles. Xbox360 just doesn't cut it for me still.
