How the hell do you slash a t-shirt sleeve without touching the skin >underneath? Better go talk to the girls again.

It is quite easy. I brushed past a sharp edge on a road barrier, while walking, and it sliced through my jeans, without cutting or in fact touching my skin.

yabits at 10:45 PM JST - 28th May I happen to find people of color to be very beautiful. Especially when >added to the group with white folks like myself. (Does that make me a >racist?)

It does is you hire some one based on the color of their skin or their race! It is so funny that people who purport to stand for equal rights are so quick to discriminate. Talk about dual standards!! I have no knowledge of the makeup of the Supreme Court, but I would hope it is made up of the best people for the job and I would hope none of them consider themselves better qualified JUST BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN or if they look beautiful.........

Code words, my God, but it amazes me how people will bend things so they are comfortable.

narrow-minded, angry and fearful white males

Hey got any other pet hates?

Please read my post. Did you mistakenly vote for "Change?" Many did, I somehow doubt you are one of them.

She is a racist. She believes in policy from the bench, which is unconstitutional. She is also part of the "Dumbing of America", as proven in here ruling in the New Haven firefighter's reverse discrimination case.

I am repeatedly amazed at the hatred most Democrats hold for those that voice an opinion different to theirs. Rest assured those that mistakenly voted for “Change” and now see what they have done, will not make the same mistake twice.

    And for the

What is unChristian about wanting to keep a serial arsonist in prison? How many innocent people should burn for his pleasure before the bleeding hearts understand that some people are just messed beyond repair.

Someone should introduce him to his own ways.

I feel sad Alberto did not at least try to save his family before saving his own skin. I was not there and it is hard to judge, but I would at least have risked my own skin for my families. Also, why do people continue to not install smoke detectors? I mean they are like JPY5000. It should be law. It is in Australia. Come on people, take steps to protect yourselves and your families.

Small things occupy the minds of small people. Parents cannot control their children 100% of the time and teenagers will make mistakes. What is important is that families come together to support each other. Those like Obama that may try to score some political points from this are just weak. Wish he would give as much though to some original "change" policies.

i see all the crap here, in november it will be all finished, OBAMA will >be the President, the old geezer will whimper away, the moose-eater will >go back doing just that.

The old geezer, is tried and proven. The "change, change, err, um, ah oh," fella will loose. America is not ready to give the presidency to someone with so little experience, and virtually no policies to mention other than "not what they want." I hope there is a black President one day, but one with integrity. Obama is a fake.

It is easy to blame others for anything that is not to our liking. And how does the Japanese tax payer pay for someone’s training and skills? If I am not correct, correct me, but most people pay for their own education. Skills are accrued while gainfully employed or on training programs. Very few if any, training programs, involve tax payers, other than as companies, and said companies are having work performed.

The solution to any engineer shortage is to make engineering jobs more attractive to potential employees, and also improve access to engineering courses. Mentoring as mentioned in the article is also a good idea.

Yakuza are criminals. Unlike Robin Hood they peddle drugs, steal cars/bikes, traffic people & extort money from businesses and people.

I don't personally care what they give away or when, tolerating them as part of a society is just wrong. How many people have died from the drugs they peddle or at their hands………………….

I rather wish our President would focus his energy on keeping the US a >free democracy. As for turning Asia into a free democracy, I suspect you >may be partially right about that. After all, he is in South Korea to >fight for the democratic rights of South Koreans to buy our beef whether >they want to or not.

I rather wish people would stop accepting the views of minorities as the views of the majority. If you bothered to read the article you would find that there were more people supporting Bush than there were protesters. Not that that matters, since there are 49million Koreans. To suggest that the views of 20,000 protestors are the views of the other 99.96% is just balmy.

Concerning democracy, it is not the President's job to keep the US a free democracy, but the citizens/voters. Concerning trade, the Koreans enjoy little in the way of export restrictions, but themselves employ many import restrictions. Is it not reasonable for countries to try to achieve a more balanced international trade solution? US beef is tasty!!

Silly idea. I like instantaneous fuel indications as I can modify my driving behavior to get best fuel economy, but when the car starts working against me, then it's not a car I want. It could also be very dangerous, as a driver may need to accelerate and the car wants the driver to reduce the rate of acceleration, so the driver reacts and pushes harder, then the car backs off fighting the driver, but now the pedal is to the metal, and the car is accelerating faster than was wanted.

    No

Its not required for any country to be protecting, or staying in another >country.

But its not going to change anytime soon.

We'll see if you feel the same way the next time the North Koreans start firing missiles or snatch a few Japanese. Disputes arise easily and when national pride is involved, escalate easily. Having a deterrent helps both sides from going too far.

Japan is still very much a controlled country. The media runs the government line. Just look at the heavy handedness of police recently during the summit. Disagreement is not liked. So maybe the bases in Japan are for others safety as well.....................

Obama is not playing race politics, he is playing politics and yes McC >would do anything to win, so would barrack, Hillary, Bush, and even me >in 2012, if I'm old enough. That's what politicians do.

So obviously integrity is not important to you. I can see why US politics is so full of cretins and liars, because they are accepted by the people.

His celebrity status is NOT his fault.

If it were not orchestrated then that would be true. Are you honestly saying you believe there is no orchestration, or that Obama is naive to it?

While I didn't fancy the lyrics of one, "paint the white house black - a >rip from old Funkadelic, I would say let's paint it at least a different >color, that white house is getting to be an eyesore.

So when a building represets something you don't like it should be changed? So much for historic sights in the US.

He was merely stating the truth. Some people are scared to make a change >and they race factor is certainly and issue to some voters. He's just >telling it like it is. I think we do need a change an McCain to be is >going to be another Bush. McCain can play the age card if he wants...

Change, funny how many people keep saying change. What change? What is new? Obama cannot admit that Iraq is now a better place for Iraqi's and that Bush was correct. Obama tried to blame the republicans for a global slow down. Obama claims change but all he offers is flip flopping on his policies. Face up to it, he is a fraud. I would dearly love to see a black president and a woman president, Democratic or Republican, but only when said person is one of integrity. And no I do not believe that Bush fits the mould, but McCain, though I think he is weak, has more integrity than 10 Obama's.

buddha4brains I did not suggest Obama is popular because he is black. You said that. I suggested that the reasoning of some of the media is in fact just as racist as disliking someone because they look a certain way. I have no issue with the color of Obama's skin. I have an issue with people who like the looks and don't listen to the words. I have an issue with someone who keeps saying Change and New and yet sprouts the same old policies and in fact flip flops on policies on a daily basis. I have an issue with someone who has little experience pretending to know everything and have all the answer. Even the free democratic press in the US is getting tired the BS and starting to point out that for example, his policies on Iraq and Afghanistan are crap. And I am amazed that people can accept his lies and think he will fix their sorry lives. How could you or anyone else be a member of a racist church and not know that it was a racist church? How could you put crap on your grandmother, who was about the only person in the world to stand by you? I would like Obama to be what most seem to think he is. He could be black, white, red, pink or blue, I don't care, as long as he has integrity and speaks with intelligence. I do not see any of that. Did any catch his stutter speech when asked a question he had not prepared for? Funny. As for McCain he is like an old lady. No fire and no soul. Maybe the US needs to get another actor president, or maybe that is already the plan..............

I can see that people like Obama for his abilities............ :) :) :) Many say that if he is elected it is the end of racism. But that is tripe. If he is elected it is because of racism, be it in reverse. But racism non the less. What happened to all people being equal. Flip flop flip flop.

I am amazed at the stupidity of people. Obama is a liar and a fake. He goes to a church for 10 years and then claims to not know the racist jibe the preacher sprouts. He is dishonest and will not acknowledge that the US surge has worked and he will not give credit where it is due. His position changes from speech to speech. He claims change and new but he offers nothing new. People look at him and like him then pay no attention to the dribble he comes out with. Wake up and open your eyes. This guy has no experience and is incompetent.
