as the teachers in japan are government employees, i'd assume they'd have to teach patriotism if they're told to do so by their employers. & i'm pretty sure a govt., any govt., would like it taught.
Posted in: Do you think that teaching patriotism should be part of a school’s education curriculum?

well, there is already legalized gambling in the form of pachinko parlors. they also have slot machines. &, if i understand correctly, most of them are owned by the north & south koreans & they do not pay taxes either for some odd reason. also, most of the profits go back to korea, so they don;t help the economy much at all. help korea though for sure.

other points to take into account :
Springing forward may both end and save lives. Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and their colleagues looked at myocardial infarction rates in Sweden since 1987 and found that the number of heart attacks rose about 5 percent during the first week of daylight saving time (called summer time in Europe). In the October 30, 2008, New England Journal of Medicine, they suggest that this rise may result from the disruption of sleep patterns and biological rhythms.
On the other hand, the clock shift could help prevent traffic accidents by enabling more people to drive home in sunlight. By analyzing 28 years of U.S. automobile crash data, RAND Corporation economists and their colleagues suggest that a 1986 change in federal daylight saving time law—which moved the start of daylight time from the last Sunday in April to the first—produced an 8 to 11 percent drop in crashes involving pedestrians and a 6 to 10 percent dip in crashes for vehicular occupants. They reported the findings in a 2007 B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy study.

well, if it was prosecutable , there wouldn't be anyone left to give us the "news" . they put out rumors on a daily basis. often under the guise of unnamed or anonymous sources.

I am a parent & i stay very close to my son. I stress values & teach right & wrong. I know (ask) where he's going & what time he'll be back. If somewhere along the line he strays & does something bad, there would have been no way I could have known. He should be punished for his actions. He should have to pay for damage inflicted . These things I also point out to him. Obviously, if it was expensive damage, the parent would have to pay up front as the child most likely doesn't have much or any money. & work something out whereas they'd pay you back. Not sure what else can be done. Can't blame the school & I dislike when the parents do that, mainly because they don't know how to parent . already in japan too much is blamed on the schools.
