let's see how happy they are when, if research is correct, there's no more bluefin in 5 - 10 years. i can hear em now. "oops, my bad"

i support regulating the industry, not a total ban. problem is, most don't follow the regulations. so, maybe a ban during certain months of the year. or something to that effect . 1 if the probs that would arise (i feel) is other fish will be overfished to make up for the shortage of bluefin. so, where does it end??? i'd like to see a survey on what the japanese people feel about all this. tired of hearing just the fishermen's views.

i wish they would use bamboo more in china to help curb all the yellow sand that blows over here to japan making breathing hazardous as well as covering everything in its path. not to mention all the pollutants the yellow sand carries with it. bamboo to the rescue.

i was very surprised to find , at least in my area, that every person i have asked so far, has never heard of this ritual of mass killing of dolphins. & none of them has ever eaten dolphin. i've asked over 100 japanese already.

i was planning on having my wife as my best friend. set up our life in the countryside. we were very close. then kids came along & like certain insects, she has no more use for me. except to pay the bills that is. i've heard that from many many people in the past about japanese wives. wasn't expecting it from mine though. live & learn. as for japanese mail friends. they never seem to totally except an outsider. all the years i've been here never had one call & say "let's go have a beer" .

more often than not i purchase things overseas for many reasons. prices are better. more options. bigger sizes. & when i travel overseas i also purchase many goods as the prices are so much better. even japanese goods ( not copies) overseas are cheaper than here. of course, the strong yen helps out as well which is a big reason for the better prices. if the yen were back in the ¥250 to $1 range, everyone would most likely change their shopping practices. let's hope it stays where it is ;-)

okapake ,i don't think avatar would be considered animation.
i like the fact that american animation is for kids, but they always throw in a bunch of gags & jokes which only the adults would understand. nice balance. in japan, the animation seems to be much more violent then the states. states always , for some odd reason, throws in a bit of violence though. & animation in japan seems much darker.
