lmshea, yes. tasers do seem the way to go. also would cut down on the chance of innocents getting shot.

time for cheney to just SHUTUP!!!!! mistake after mistake was made when he was in power. thousands of iraqis have died since the so called "liberation". he was in white house during 9/11 & had intelligence which could have possibly thwarted that attack, but didn't act on it. list goes on & on. SHUTUP already!!! sarge, what i think zurconium means is bush & cheney had obl cornered in tora bora , but let him slip away.

it's kind of sad that an event as big as the world cup has to be based on how much profit there will be. how about basing it on sportsmanship & who's the best team & so on.the writer also states that the "only" thing that it can boost is the nations morale & image. well, seems as if africa could you a shot of morale & if their image is improved, they will become more trustworthy & more companies could possibly decide to do business there. hence the profit everyone seems to be so worried about.

angels are getting a class player & with the dh in the american league, he still can be productive even if his knees aren't what they once were. he proved as much with the yanks this year. & apparently he still loves the game, so a drop in salary doesn't hurt too much as he still gets to do what he loves.

    numbskull,

darn good point! one thing though, with his popularity, i was quite surprised at the skanks he was sleeping with. could've done much much better ezily. if he had made better choices, i may have envied him as well ;-)

the guy's a billionaire. can't imagine any of this is hurting him financially. taking a hit on the "i'm da man " image, but that's about it.

by far & away the most relaxing way to spend time in japan. lots of the places have family baths (kazokuburo) these days if you prefer the privacy of just being with your family (or loved one ;-). they usually have a time limit though, but an hour should be enough. although i often go to the public baths, i prefer the overnight stays at a ryokan . you can take numerous baths & then kick back & chill in your room with a cold beer or a nice sake. be sure to find one that serves good meals though.

"smithinjapan Great. I can just see rural prefectures now pushing for international airports because Japan doesn't have enough!

many of the rural prefectures already have international airports, but they only deal with flights to & from asian countries.

problem is japanese don't know the right time nor places to complain. they seem to just do it for the sake of doing it. even in nice places with good food & good service it seems they rave on.

at least someone is finally speaking up, be it right or wrong. not too much is said about japan from the outside.

of course what he did was despicable, but the woman who was raped has asked repeatedly to have the case dropped. with all of this attention she keeps reliving the past. no one seems to actually care about her though.
