the number of US military members with criminal records increased by 54% from 2004 to 2005 (Oct 1, 2006: Nick Turse). i applaud the people of nago for rejecting those criminals from their fair town.

everyone knows that hatoyama is just a puppet prime minister for ozawa. the recent scandal and hatoyama's refusal to distance himself from ozawa reinforces this. unless hatoyama comes up with some policies or anything other than dancing to the tune of ozawa's fiddle, hatoyama is just a liability to himself.

why does this article feel it necessary to link to the eco-terrorists website? would you do the same for al-qaeda in a story about osama bin-laden?
japan is obeying international laws. they are doing research. these 'sea shepherd' eco-terrorists can't understand that if they disagree, they should go through their country's own legal channels to attempt to hinder or pressure the japanese into ceasing their legal activities. otherwise, it's terrorism, plain and simple.

well, americans in afghanistan and iraq failed pretty hardcore at 'winning hearts and minds,' so yes, i'd say that applies to them to.
regardless of what my 'fellow americans' think, a marine base in or near osaka is bad news. 'service personnel' only spend money on booze and women, so most of the local businesses would not be helped very much. it would only serve to further strain the relationship between japan and the US because quite frankly, american military whackjobs suck at being a 'visitor' in any country.

i am american, and i find these comments completely accurate. the last thing i want in osaka is a bunch of stupid americans that make other americans look bad. and seriously, that's what the american military does in other countries.
