This is just so sad. She was a bright shining light that both used and fought the system for so many years. I will grieve for her tonight. I want to say more, but words fail me.

Let's see, pay 490 freetas 800 yen each to line up for an hour, not a bad cost of advertising. Oh and yeah those ten that actually wanted the burgers, hope they got them while they were still warm.

Although I fully realize that often major crimes are not solved as quickly as portrayed on some popular TV shows, I found it strange a few years ago when a police sergeant showed up at my door to ask if I had heard anything suspicious on a night ten months previous. He was talking about a shooting that had occurred some two kilometers away from where I lived at the time. I guess the need to check off all the boxes on the investigation report needed completion.

The main problem in Japan is that the pens do not draw well on the down curve, designed only for drawing the graph upwards. As an aside, Japan self sufficient? Best joke I've heard for a month!

Ahh, the end of an era, I have so many fond memories of Kabukicho from years past (before I settled down) actually very gaijin friendly once they got to know you and much more laid back and less expensive than areas such as Roppongi. I will miss it, and miss the people there most of whom had very little connection to the yakuza, just paid a small (much smaller than in places like New York) fee each month.
I've known quite a few owners of clubs in the area, and I guess now they will after years of saving up so they could open their own places have no alternative but to try and become OL's and be part of Ishihara's concept of what good women should be.
Yes, the stories I could tell.....
