This is the problem with faith based birth control. A 17 year old getting married. Really? It is too bad that her mother didn't want Alaska schools to actually teach birth controls. Or that her mother didn't oppose the use of birth control, including condoms, by even married couples.
Those are some great values you got there Sarah!! Your daughter is ready to be a mom just about as much as you are ready to be VP!! The whole GOP campaign is a complete joke! you can't make this sh*t up!!! It's like a sitcom!!

I personally am understanding of teen pregnancy because it happens sometimes. I also support her keeping the child. I think she should not be attack in he media. On the other hand, when you mother is runnning for VP, voted against Sex education programs and only supported funding for abstinence programs......it makes you wonder. Can she really be second in command when her plate is so full and in need of attention. She has five children one with a disability. She has another child with a grandchild on the way. She really needs to be there with the family. She might have prevented this if she was at home a little more. Her investigations about her brother-in-law are also heating up. They are in way over there heads. This looks bad for McCain especially with his track record on teen pregnancy/sex education issues. It looks really hypocritical for both of them. It may also support the view of some who said he just picked her at the last minute to get some attention. Her 48 hours of cool hype seems to be over. Mr. Obama like a gentlemen does not want to focus on her family but the media will want to squeeze it dry.
That's the risk you run when you present yourself as holier-than-thou...eventually, we will all find out that you are as human as the rest of us. So now we have a vice-presidential hopeful who has raised another Jamie-Lynn Spears despite all her conservative, God-fearing front. Honestly, between this and McCain's cheating on/dumping his first wife (based on her disfigurement in a car crash), I am having a hard time swallowing the "family values" message the GOP is always trying to con us with.
We are going to be in for a surprise a day about Palin from here to Nov 4. Meanwhile Obama-Biden looked crisp on the trail this weekend. Thank god some one is showing professionalism.I don't want a Maverick or a Cowboy.. I want a President.

Another Republican who is anti-environment, anti-science, pro-life and big business lunatic. They just don't get any better than this.

Unfortunately, with her support for drilling in the Arctic Refuge and off our coasts, Governor Palin will simply continue the failed policies of the Bush-Cheney administration and their Big Oil friends — policies that could make us even more dependent on foreign oil.

It is a cheap attempt to grab Hillary supporters that are still disgruntled. It sounds similar to what the Illinois Republicans tried to pull off a few years ago. When Ryan dropped out of the Senate race due to scandals, Illinois Republicans called on Alan Keyes to run against Obama. Get it?

Barack Obama looks and sounds Presidential. He doesn’t look like he’s out of his league. In contast Sarah Palin looks scared and out of her element. She sounds more like a young woman running for her school’s Presidency. She has a pitchy shcool girl’s voice and looked an sounded very nervous today. That makes me nervous. Watch McCain and Palin body language last night they don't even look comfortable around each other. McCain had only met Palin once before nominating her VP.
It would take all my imagination to view Sarah Palin as someone that could potentially be the leader of the free world. Leadership comes natural to Barack Obama. I don’t have to use my imagination.
McCain’s choice of Gov. Palin further shows his lack of sound judgment. You’re telling me that after blasting Obama for having a combined ten years of state and federal senatorial experience, McCain now picks a former council member/mayor of a small town in Alaska who has been governor for less than a full term? Is it not just slightly odd looking at a 72 year old man next to a late 30s woman? The Vice-President is just one step away from being President, correct?

Wolfpack,
When she was asked what she thought about Irag, her reply was she hadn't even thought about it. How could not be thinking about it? She has known for a whole year her son was going to fight there.
Secondly, her child has Downs Syndrome. How will she be able to care for that very young child and run the nation at the same time. It would be extremely difficult if the child didn't have special needs. There are cases of female politicians even in the Bush Amdinistrations who stepped down shortly after getting the job for the same reasons.
When all of the excitement wears down a little and people actually get to know some of these things about Gov. Palin, I believe you’ll find that she will become a liability, not an asset, for the McCain campaign.

Only the die hard nutjobs won't think that his pandering to women. I honestly think that it will be more insulting to the majority of the women than empowering.
Alphaape
Only plus she has is her ties to the oil companies in Alaska. She has been in office for only two years. The previous encumbents were so riddle with scandal anybody with a degree in Jouranlism could have stepped up a looked Golden.
Lets not forget to mention she is currently being investigate:
First, for giving contracts to the company her husband works for.
Second, for firing a governmental employ because he refused to fire her former brother-in-law who is a State Trooper. Right now, the State Trooper is a custody battle with one of her kinfolk. Who do think that would have benefitted?
Do really want someone like that to become President because we know McCain will probably not be able to fulfill his role as Commander-and-Chief? If Cancer or Dementia doesn't get him anyone of the ailments on his 1200 page medical report for only the past 8 years might get him.
It may not be relevant but Barack's medical report consisted of only one page for his whole life.

RomeoRamenII and the rest,
You have nothing better than stupid one liners. Come with some real substances.
Wow!!!! Obama's skills at making good decisions has really shined through.
The fact that none of Palin's group or McCain's inner-circle knew anything about his decision shows it was a last minute act of desperation. It shows that McCain is not thinking about the country but only himself.
Obama chose a VP to help run the country.
McCain chose a VP to help win an election
It is a good day for the Obama camp!!!!!!

mccain chooses Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for V.P.
What kind of experience does she have with Foreign Policy? She is Obama junior by three years.
Quote: She has recently come under the scrutiny of an investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that she ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper.
It is sad really. He is playing the gender card and she seems to be vindicative. {Cat noises!!!!} ;)

SkiptheSong,
McCain and Bush were trying to open immigration but that was simply for the sake of re-election. That is a very important voting bloc especially for them two considering they are from Arizona and Texas. Not the same for the rest of the party. Check how they voted in Congress against Bush on those issues. Republicans have been pushing them away. How do you explain the 700 ft of wall being put up along the border?
AA don't expect Hispanics to vote for Obama but do believe they are getting shafted just like they are by the Republican party. And it is their best interest to vote for him. I honestly believe AAs would vote for a Hispanic if it is in their best interest. Wouldn't anybody?

Shipthesong,
Not voting for Obama doesn't mean racism. Especially when there is real good reason it terms of his perforamnce of the job. But when you here answers like the link below, not mention the logic used you truly start to understand why people think race is the biggest issue. And these people like so many in denial are racist. It is just no longer a politically correct thing to be. People should take step back and really look at their reasoning behind their opinions. Like someone else has mentioned Obama's quest has really brought to the surfaces alot peoples darkest secrets or personality faults. Maybe a America isn't perfect!? And their way of thinking is wrong. Which why you get all the negativity by this small segment of the population that are comprised mostly of Caucasians.

I also don't think Blacks are automtically expecting Hispanics to vote for Obama. My experience with Hispanic community makes me believe that socially they lean towards Republican. Usually it the Republican machine that pushes this voting bloc away. When I say machine I mean the hardcore Republican nuts. Right now with all that anti-immigration rhetoric floating around. I believe the Hispanic community feels Democrats are on their side when it comes to this issue.
I do agree as a constituent typically we are never completely satisfied. We will always be demanding more of our political figures. It somewhat easy to satisfy one person's demand but try satisfying millions.

First of all most the modern Japan we see today is mainly do to the reset button which took place after WWII. After the Americans came in, they were leap frogged into the industrial age. A chain reaction that echoed to all the other countries they touched during their campaign. (Korea, China. Phillipines etc.)
The reason why they are leaders in technology is because their culture are so open to embracing such things. Countries where it is not as important focus on other priorities. It has nothing to do with a homogenous culture but economics. (Supply&Demand, allocation of resources)Maybe if America did the same to Brazil and later rebuilt it then your gaming consoles would be coming from country known for sexy women with nice butts.
Another example: I worked for Olympus R&D department a few years ago. Fields like engineering and science are not popular professions in Japan. Most of the research on all this technology Japan creates which you contribute to a homogenous society, largely comes from foreigners working there. The head of the projects are usually Japanese for obvious reasons. But the breakthroughs were usually created by foreigners who were contracted for research. It was also indicative of another company I worked for that was a subsidiary of Fujitsu. That is the advantage of diversity. New ideas and ways to solve problems to provide the best demand gaming system in the world.
Like someone else said Japan is good about sweeping secrets under the rug.
