There is only one solution... bury the Fukushima plant as they did chernobyl's. But most likely they will partial bury Fukushima some parts can still run. Not as good as a solution but then they can say Nuclear power is still safe. Ignoring the environmental damage that Fukushima is still doing. But Japan is not Germany and will not take the correct step of elimination nuclear power altogether.

I though all the Japanese TV are loosing to Samsung. Didn't Sony and Samsung make some kind of deal recently? Anyway, the Chinese will take over so what's the difference. If Japan's tech industry is already loosing to Korea, what do you think will happen when China revs up their manufacturing using cyber attacked techno info. What is wrong with Japan's cyber defenses...oh right they don't have any.

Hmmm.... that 80 kilometers...is that because they only looked up to 80 km from the plant? The plutonium may or may not have come from the plant since during the nuclear testing age, it was all over the atmosphere. But, the amount needs to be compare to a non-contaminated area upwind from the plant like Nagano or Niigata. Compare the background radiation and soil contamination to get a base line to what is normal. Since winds were blowing toward Tokyo for a while, they probably should test around the plane that includes Tokyo. I'm surprised that they don't have that information. They should have it on a continual basis since China and Russia did nuclear test, not to mention Chenobyl. Right now, Japan is getting hit by mercury from China... probably not look for it either. The US has monitoring stations all over and some detected an increase from Fukushima and that is some 10K miles away. They also detected the mercury.....

Ok, if the modern Chinese economy started in 1978 add 50 yrs or 2028 or so. Meaning that China growth has about another 15 or so years to go. But the last 10 years will probably be flat. Even this interpretation, 2016-18 should be very interesting in a negative way. I don't see the US or Europe recovering by then and forget about Japan. India economy is beginning to fail. Once China goes what's left? China mainly sells to Europe and the US. Lowered demand is cooling the Chinese market. China needs to become more of a consumer nation but there are no where near there. The final real estate bubbles are in NY, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, etc; the major economic center cities. They should all fall about the same time, since I don't see Europe's financial issues being resolved, the US looks like it will go austerity which will sink their economy, and China isn't there yet.
Do you know how to tell when society is falling....when was the last time man walked on the moon?

Why? This is not out of the blue. Just because you are prepared doesn't mean you won't get hurt, especially since I don't think this one will be as short lived as people think. I think this is one of those once in a 1000 years events that reminds man that he is not God. Since I don't see it getting better for generations, make the best of it. Since we are topping or topped, it will be much easier on you than those who follow. Enough gloom...enjoy living.

The authorities should track all criminals and I would hope that the condition of pedophile's release would be to keep clear of schools and children's areas.

Most countries in the world have higher personal taxes than the US and the people are happier. You get what you pay for or not. Ever think why US is No. 1 on spending on health care and have outcomes that are no where near the top ten. If I remember right it's more like the results of a third world country. France is the closest in spending at 1/2 and they cover everyone.
Capitalism works because it is based on being a selfish B***d. That why it only works with REGULATIONS to make thing fair. BTW, did you know that most CEOs have the profile of a psychopath and US CEO usually get paid more than their company pays in taxes whether or not the company lost or made money.
For centuries business men were looked on as evil and even in the US since it went against christian teachings.

I would say the bi-lingual education is not the same bi-cultural education. I think it is better for a child to learn a second language as early as possible. If the parents have different native languages, then they should teach the child both languages. Kids are good with language and early exposure can never be match later. As for Japanese schools, I'm sure they teach many subjects well but foreign language isn't one of them. It's unlikely that a teach of a foreign language ever attend school in a country that spoke that language. If the teacher can't pronounce the words correctly how can the students? There are some private schools that do a good job but you have to know those schools and their history. Just know that if the kids stay in Japan, they may not be able pickup some of the nuance of the foreign language. Language is not just vocal.

Yes, China is a threat to Japan in many ways. As far as Okinawa or the Ryukyu Kingdom, it was under the Qing Dynasty of China until Satsuma Clan decided to invade. Later Qing dynasty ceded Taiwan after the first Sino-Japanese war by the teaty of Shimonoseki. It was then that China renounced any claims to Korea. But since the French, Germans, and Russia forced Japan to re-cede the area of Liaodung. Taiwan became independent after 1945 but now there is a dispute as to whether or not Taiwan is part of China. If present day China can claim Taiwan then China can also claim Okinawa since basically the Shimonoseki treaty of 1895 would be void. After all, Okinawa is a part of Japan only because in 1972 the US returned the islands to Japan instead of granting it independence which would are reverted it to the Ryukyu Kingdom again. If China did not go communist after WWII, Japan may have become a basket case of a country. The main saviors of Japan was that China was out of the economic picture and the Korean war. One of the symbols was Japan was made out the war materials from the Korean war....Tokyo Tower.

Baka, baka, baka, baka... In a plane crash parts disintegrate all the time. The heat from a jet fuel fire is around 5000 degrees, look up the temperture at which metal melts. The reason the towers came down vertically was because of the design. If you think that you are so smart, look up the design.
It is only a matter of time that either we no need the oil of the middle east or China, Russia and the west will conclude that middle east has become too dangerous and eliminate the threat. If you like conspiracies, figure out why the west is playing around in Afganistan and Iraq when Russia and China both think consider Islam in its current form as the threat but they still trade with them for now.
