You know if you had bought Apple 5,000 shares of Apple at $5 per share in the mid 90's, you would have about $1.89 Million at today's price of about $377.

The problem is how do you know if something is contaminated or not. Since the Gov isn't doing anything about it, it may be time to get a geiger counter. But they are now hard to get and not cheap. Still it may be better to rely on your own means than trust this government. It's nice that they are researching this but that like researching how hot a fire is while it's burning down you house. The option are pretty simple but since they in no hurry to solve the problem, it can only get worse from a health point of view. Remember that areas in Chenobyl is still so hot that you shouldn't even step on moss some 30 years later.
Posted in: Beef, milk, tea, spinach and other vegetables have been contaminated due to the Fukushima nuclear crisis. How much worse do you think this is going to get? For example, do you think rice will be affected?

The problem is just the beef, it is that no one is looking at the real problem. If you feed hay from fukushima to cattle or cows in Niigata, there will be a problem. Who allowed anything from a contaminated area into a non-contaminated area? Never mind where the fail out has actually spread. Now but the transportation of food stuff and animal feed from a contaminated to be able to be sold in non-contaminated areas, you have just compromised the whole food supply system. So now the question is, is questionable food from out side of japan safer than food certified in Japan?

Still have a problem with the term since they are talking about Cloud Computing which has its own acronyms as Iass, Saas, and Haas. I also don't think mikans are mandarins. Mandarins are Citrus reticulata and mikans or Wenzhou migan are Citrus unshiu; 温州蜜柑 or Honey Citrus of Wenzhou.

I though one the main problems with Chinese Agriculture was that the pesticides that they used killed off all the bees. Don't see how "ICT" means anything there. BTW, never heard of ICT acronym; seems wrong somehow.

I don't know, since CGI, anime has become more and more cheap looking including ones done by CLAMP. As for the stories, they are getting more and more bizarre. But they do reflect today's Japanese society.

What I can't stand about this issue is the lie of "research". I believe that like I believe Japan was a victim of WWII. It doesn't help eliminate the image of the Japanese as sneeky which was the view some 60 years ago.

Japan has so many hot springs that geothermal is a natural. This way changes in geothermal activity can be study for volcanic predictions. They some places have the hot water just pouring out, the cost should be much reduced. Use the heat to generate electricity and take a bath with the same water. Seems like a good fit.

SPEEDI - Spending Plan Elimiates Essencial Data Information You would have thought someone should have created a real monitoring system instead of a prediction system when no data was available in 2000 and than again in 2006. It's not useless, it's criminal.

I don't know why they are just protesting TEPCO. They should be protesting the government for allowing TEPCO to build FUKUSHIMA DAIICHI in the first place. They are asking for the wrong compensation since the nuclear incident isn't over yet and can still get far worst. This nuclear incident may be less then Chenobyl but it was only a little while ago when they (TEPCO and the Japanese Government) were indication it was a the level of 3 Mile Island where there was no real radiation leak and no illness probably becasue people left immediately after the Penn. Gov. said small children and pregnant women should leave the area. But, there as no call for that until basically it was too late. If this get worse, which it still can, remember that today a 600 mile area around Chenobyl is off limits. You do that in this case....

It's between Three-Mile-Island and Chernobyl for now. Chernobyl started with a reactor core blow out. Fukushima Daiichi can still have 1,2,3,4 reactor core blow outs. Of the 4, the biggest problem is with 3 since it has MOX. Enjoy the Hanami in the Tokyo area.... You never know. Half-life for 242PU is 373,300 yrs, 241Pu is 14 yrs, 240Pu is 6563 yrs, and 239Pu is 24,600 yrs.

It seems way early. It looks like from now on instead of the Sakura being associated with a new school year, it will have to be associated with graduation from school.

Guess work, guess work.... Seems odd that he would do from the 5th floor if he lived on the 8th. Would make more sense to jump from the 8th. The last day of exams seems a odd choice too. Why didn't he want to go to school THAT day? You would think there should have been a note. Pretty severe quick descision. Sure someone(s) did give a little push? I hate snap conclusions with no real evidence.

Don't dis volunteers! I found that EMS that use volunteers have ambulances that are better equiped and the volunteers are better trained. That is because paid services have a bottom line to think about and extra supplies are money.
The dispatcher should treage the calls and send the police instead. But Japan doesn't have a 911 systems where all emergencies (Fire, Police, Medical)are the same number. Maybe they would think twice if a cop showed up at their front door.

Car Seat Law: Those who drive a car with a child younger than 6 years old must have a child seat. Failure to do so will result in deduction of 1 driver's license point (same penalty for not wearing a seat belt). Exceptions: - A car in which a child seat cannot be installed for structural reasons - A car in which a child seat cannot be installed because of full capacity of passengers - When a child is being taken care of (being fed, etc.) - When riding on public transportation

I don't get it. Priority Seats = no cell phone use. Two men using cell phone in priority seats. Argument which resulted in delays affecting thousands. No arrest. Why have signs regarding priority seats? Police call but no result by any standard. This is just stupid. I blame the JR and the police. All the people should get fare refunds.
