Nothing in the world ruins the atmosphere of being in a quiet, beuatiful place than a fan american waddling about yelling at the top of their voice: "The prices here are astronomical!" or "Hal! Hal! Come and look at this little man!"
Having said that I have met some wonderful American tourists who were extremly polite and good company.
It seems Chinese people have a rather bad reuputation as tourists, but I think this argument is somewhat flawed in that assuming the millions of tourists behave exactly because they all come from the same country.
Someone pointed out that a much better way of classifying people is through their class and upbringing. I personally find working glass yobbos no worse than the middle class snobs who criticise them.
