    Tyedyed, He has not been convicted of desertion.This can only be done by military court-martial and it wont even come to that in this case. Being charged with a felony and being convicted of one is two very big things.

    Correct,Military members are not fingerprinted at Narita or any Japanese airport on entry or exit from the country.

    U.S. Military are waived from being fingerprinted at Immigration control at the airport.

    Cappy, I don't know of any country where the prosecutor can appeal a "Not Guilty" verdict after a trial.Only Japan.

    They can't in The United States. If the prosecutor finds some evidence against someone that was found "Not Guilty" the defendent must be charged and convicted using a different charge…

    In Japan you can be found "Not guilty" in a trial and if the prosecutor doesn't like that verdict he/she can appeal the verdict to a higher court and get that court to find the person "Guilty" without another trial or more evidence.
