There is a question "So what is the official language of foreign-financed companies in Japan?" and answer was "Japanese".............

That's not true for ALL foreign-financed companies in Japan, since ALL the foreign-financed companies in Japan that I know, their official business language is ENGLISH not Japanese. I'm working in a foreign-financed companies in Japan, and our official business language is English, and our company gives importance to Japanese colleagues to learn English (they receives some benefits). Many previous Japanese owned companies which are now halfly owned by foreign companies are also making effort to implement English as official business languange.

And all traditional companies like Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba etc...if someone have a very good English competencies they can promoted quickly than those who cannot speak.

In addition, the Rakuten top man, is only thinking to take care of his company to where the world economy is going, If a company wants to grow big and big it has to be GLOBALLY competence.

Bowing in USA and bowing in Japan have different meaning or level. bowing in Japan is just shake hands and a smile in USA. whereas bowing in USA is same as someone kissing the ground in Japan.

Cultural differences, if some conservative leaders in USA cannot handle it then they would not be able to handle leadership itself.

Obama shows how he can be flexible to any types of cultures... Many leaders of Big and Powerful Companies in the World are doing this ...and their are very successful in their respective businesses. No leader cannot lead the Globe, if he do not think Globally.

The Olympic Committe of Japan should be blame! If they had picked-up cities in Japan who have wide public support then they could have won the bid.

The Mother was not looking...you are lucky Mom, due to decreasing new born baby in Japan. The Japanese Mother should take extra care for their children.

However, I agree in some of the comments above that the Mother of this child should be charge with negligence and be given some punishment like giving public apology for her negligence of her child.

other low-end but respectable business Hotels in Japan have standard internet connection at every room free of charge, then if you do not have a computer you can borrow for "free" a computer unit located in a room near the receptions. Also free Breakfast. But they do not advertise it.

ANA Crowne Plaza belongs to InterContinental Hotels Group....I can't imagine that the Internet usage is not free of charge, breakfast can be another story.

ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka, maybe this hotel has been left alone, at present Internet should be basic part of the service which makes the guest comfortable during their stay.

PM Taro Aso knows that DPJ will win when he declared election. LDP Ministers needs some clean up. After PM Koizumi, 3 years, 3 PMs....no government stability. No stability even within LDP. This is just an LDP "TraPo" (Traditional Politician) clean up, LDP will be reborn soon. For now, let DPJ have some experience not only complains.

from the current standing, DPJ will surely win. I think it is better to give DPJ chance to run Japan once so that they can experience how difficult it is compare to just critizing everytime.
