******How can sports events be a success? If they make it to the finish I guess you could say they were a success.
If some contestants choke to death on Beijing smog maybe it will be a failure.
As for Bush, he's a poor harbinger of democracy.

****A great many Americans, like a great many Japanese are pseudo-sophisticates. Those Americans eat raw fish to appear cosmopolitan. Japanese eat it because they like it but eat other foods to appear cosmopolitan.
I sometimes eat it because my wife is Japanese and it's on our bill of fare. But I use a large amount of Wasabi. And, I don't grow giddy with delight.
But, to stay on-topic, most sea food consuming countries are over-fishing

****Don't worry about the word "trillions". It doesn't mean anything; just a word. The only things that reach it are the stars in the universe, maybe mosqitos in New Orleans and Bush's mind. Hasn't been an actual trillion dollars since it came into being.
Neither Obama nor McCain will be able to recover that money.
I respect McCain but don't think he's presidential material.
This may be selfish of me but I'll be 79 tomorrow and I don't really give a damn what happens. Just for fun I would like to see an Obama/Farrakhan ticket with Sharpton on the Supreme court and Jesse Jackson as Sec'y of State. Oh, yeah...Larry Flint as head of the Bureau for American Morality.

****It's dangerous to retaliate on these pervs. Most advanced countries have laws that prevent the Dudley-do-rights from exacting justice from these maniacs. If you cop a Sunday punch on one and he dies you'll pay for it with several years of your life.
Vigilante law would much improve the morality of the world.
I've heard they now have vending machines that dispense girls' dirty underwear in Japan. So far, haven't heard of that in the states.
I was looking forward to a message from Nessie on this episode.

It's a dog-eat-dog world. The dog who kicked the chihuahua should end up in a bag of beggin' strips, a bacon flavored treat for dogs.

****Nowadays many children survive infancy thru sheer luck. Young kids require constant attention. There are too many self-centered, hedonistic parents today. This kind of tragedy is pitiful.

****KILROY WAS HERE1 This was left around a great part of the globe by American military during WW11. The Ugly American has been joined by the Ugly Japanese. They were a humble, well-mannered people for years after the war. Sad to say, many of them, company people and students, who come here for a short time are arrogant as hell. C'est la vie. The world has changed.

****The half life of plutonium (?have forgotten isotope number) is 144 thousand years. Imagine a bad leak with wind blowing in the right direction. If any life survived in Japan and Korea it would be cockroaches deeply embedded in the earth. As I see it, it doesn't make much difference. The powers-that-be, which are running this world are gonna wipes us all out soon, anyway. It won't be from a carrier power source. They're safer than any nuclear plant.

Prior to Akihito Emperors had no real childhood; nor real life for that matter. He picked himself a good wife and, I believe, they have both had a pleasant life.
I feel as much sympathy as I can muster for the elite. I would almost rather be a bum.

I've been guilty of that a few times when I was 14 or 15. In those days the sight of a female knee cap was a real thrill.
At 34 I only looked up adult girls skirts. Nowadays there's nothing left to the imagination.
