Unfortunately this not only affects the so called lower rungs on the ladder. There are plenty of universities that have hiring and salary practices that are unfair and/or discriminatory, and it's getting worse.

888naff: I'm not an enviromentalist, but many people have been following this story for years. This action might, just might, have saved the bluefin from extinction. Considering it's role in the food chain, that's big news.
