Life is full of choices. Every day. Sometimes we make the right choice and sometimes the wrong choice but the choice gets made. Criticizing people for killing themselves is as stupid as trying to criticize those who don't kill themselves. Who's really right? Or is it just easier to criticize…

My point was that the conscription of women and children was hardly going to have any impact on the outcome of the war and certainly shouldn't have contributed to the supposed justification of bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Moreover, conscripting women and children is completely different from indiscriminately killing women…

Can you tell us of any documented cases of Japanese women or children attacking (let alone killing) Allied soldiers or civilians during the war?

A little off topic but I wonder why the reality shows like "Survivor" or "Big Brother" haven't had Japanese versions made... Any thoughts?

Actually been here 16 years now. Do you get fingerprinted anywhere other than Narita airport each time you arrive? Mental abuse for kids with a foreign parent? Is that really so different from many other countries? Kids have to put…

Carrying a "gaijin" card doesn't bother me at all. I hardly ever think about it and hardly ever use it because I can use my Japanese drivers' license in most situations where ID is needed. I do love Japan very much. The bureaucracy, the funny habits of people, the protocol.…
