Nope. Both are full of Koreans.

I always find it amusing that a large number of those fellows are actually Koreans. A show of being political organization once in a while and they can get on with their more lucrative extortion work. These aren't the guys you have to be worried about. It is the ones lurking on the Internet that really believe their own ideology who who are unpredictable. These guys on their trucks aren't sneaking up on you (you can hear them coming for sure!).

I haven't been following this issue too closely, as I don't live in the USA now. But if US citizens must have government-approved insurance, does that mean all US citizens living in Japan and using Japanese insurance (as is required here) will have to get US insurance too or pay the $750 fine each year for the privilege of not having something we can't use except on a visit to family?

Well, with a title like that, JT has pretty much determined what the comments would be. "from cooking tips to radical political ideas" would be more accurate description of 2 channel. I bet a lot of the radical comments are from people who say that just for kicks without any real political or racial motivation. I think one should take a look for one's self before passing judgment based on the image presented by conventional media. I don't agree with much of the radical comments, but the forum does give a venue for covering things that traditional media doesn't seem worthy for us to know.
You don't have to like it. But take a look for yourself (and not just the political threads) before passing judgement.
At least the radicals are staying pretty much on the internet, unlike in Korea where they burn flags on the street and throw chopped off fingers at the Japanese embassy. I think that is more frightening than a bit of so-called hate speech on the 'net.

sfinyoko, It is public as kornholio said 5 posts ago. The media can't release it without investigating all of the (rather subjective) grievances about the companies. NOVA (for Japanese employees) has been on it for years, if anyone cares...

I have some issues with this article. First, it is one man's side of the story, giving out the name of the other party. Now, unless everything in here is a verified fact, I smell a defamation of character lawsuit in the works. If JT didn't make sure everything is factual, I imagine it could be a party to such a lawsuit too (there is no disclaimer). Why do I think it is less than 100% factual? 1) Foreigners CAN have custody. 2) “Koseki shohon” is an abridged document of the content of the family register, not the register itself. The guy is presenting mistruths.
JT just seems to be the way that yet another foreigner with little knowledge of (or desire to find out) his actual situation lets off steam in a one-sided rant about another party. Can we expect JT to publish a rebuttal by Ms. Iseya if she submits one?

Not so much not wanting to adopt, but the bureaucracy makes it so difficult. Many birth parents are not willing to cut all ties to kids they have put into institutions. If you become a foster parent (fairly easy) instead of adopting (very difficult), you never know when the child will be taken away and sent back to the birth parent(s).

Why do people keep bringing up this myth?? The article even states You can even write your name with katakana if you prefer. Sure you can't use the English alphabet anymore for official purposes domestically. But that is only common sense as Japanese is not written with that alphabet. You CAN change your name. But you are not required to do so.

China's "fastest train" is built using French technology. China also has some Japanese Shinkansen trains. China's high-speed trains aren't theirs to export (not that a little thing like intellectual property rights ever stopped the Chinese).

Maybe. Maybe not. The question is, why didn't they?
Again, why didn't they? According to scholar Donald S. Macdonald
So, while colonization may not have been morally correct (but a recognized practice at the time), it did provided some benefits to the country.
But Korea is still screaming for blood 60+ years later. They aren't satisfied with Takeshima. They want Tsushima "back" too (even though they only had it for a short time in something like 1400).

Where is the news in this?? Fukushima has been saying that like every day. We all know what she wants. Now that we have been told yet again, will she get down to her real cabinet job? Haven't heard a peep out of her about Consumer Affairs and Food Safety (her REAL job). All she does is whine about helicopters all day.

So you are saying to take your word that the Japanese government is blocking website? You offer no proof of things you can't find. I can search for info on making drugs and bombs from Japan in English and Japanese. Those are illegal but aren't blocked. Do inform us of all those things you tried to find but were blocked!

Don't know what sites you can't access. I haven't had that issue having been here almost as long as the Internet has.
Maybe you are talking about sites outside Japan that block access from other countries. That is mainly entertainment content that the site in the individual country (mostly USA) blocks itself for licensing reasons. I would be really surprised if you could name sites the the Japanese government blocks access to. Waiting for your examples.

Eliminate the "special" permanent resident thing; make all those Koreans born and raised here citizens or send them back the their "home" country. The system just makes it harder to create policies regarding real (i.e. not born here) foreigners. You don't need to give your fingerprint at the airport if you are a permanent resident... but only if you are "special". The war ended 60+ years ago! it is time for them to decide if they want to be Japanese or Korean citizens, instead of having them as Koreans on the dole in Japan.

Maybe they all remember the case of the gentleman a few months who picked up a little girl who got lost trying to find her grandmother's house. He stopped at a koban to ask for directions as he couldn't find the grandmother's place... and was promptly arrested for kidnapping! That certainly discourages even looking at a child nowadays.

Only if their 'government' decides that it is what they want the people to see. Some in the US government may not like people from Arizona doing what is legal in that state, but they aren't stopping the people from knowing about it.
