Only if their 'government' decides that it is what they want the people to see. Some in the US government may not like people from Arizona doing what is legal in that state, but they aren't stopping the people from knowing about it.

LoveUSA,
Translation of "踊る阿呆に見る阿呆 同じ阿呆なら踊らにゃ損々" is closer to "Those who dance are fools. Those who watch are fools. If you're gonna be a fool, you're loosing out if you don't dance!" (i.e., you might as well dance).

The national guard is called out by the State Governor. There is no single National Guard. The president can federalize the guard if there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States. Two Georgia police officers playing with the computer does not constitute a rebellion. Eisenhower federalizing the Arkansas National Guard was done because the governor had previously called out the guard to prevent black students from attending school, and he ignored a federal court order to recall them. I was merely trying to point out the hypocrisy of your statements. I didn't say I was for Bush bending the law. You are advocating the current president to do so, however. The constitution can be changed to make Obama president for life, if you want. But it has to go through the proper legal procedures.

AK619 You are totally lost over when it comes to the law. Again, the national guard does not have the power to do what you want. Ever heard of the Posse Comitatus Act? Once elected, the president is not given power to do whatever he wants. The FBI and the Secret Service can investigate. Calling in the National Guard would constitute a crime by the President. And it wasn't the CIA (in charge of dealing with foreign threats to the nation), it was the Secret Service (protection of the president) that had an issue with the police. People complain about Bush going above and beyond the law, but now are screaming for Obama to do the same. Hypocritical, if you ask me. Rogue (or "rouge" as you call them), a couple cops do something stupid and you are calling for martial law!

Don't know, but it was Daisuke Kudo. There was an official DPJ event the previous evening that they both attended. I say they just stayed at the same business hotel and either left at the same time or had breakfast together at the hotel. WAY too public a place to have a scandalous affair. Dive-in love hotels where you don't even see the staff or any other 'guests' are much better if you don't wanna be caught.

Now that would give Obama a criminal record. The Unites States National Guard (military) does not have power of arrest on US soil unless martial law is declared. This is simply a case of cops A saying "Hey, I wonder if the president has an arrest record" and cop B saying "Let's look it up on the computer". Nobody is "messing with the federal government." There are no "rogue cops". What you are saying is "We all love the Great Obama and any insult to his greatness must be trampled with the full might of the army."

Oh they probably will eventually. Police arrest for the crime that they have the most evidence for (probably ATM pictures of the idiots). Then the re-arrest the suspects after holding them in custody and getting them to confess the other crimes. Each re-arrest grants the police more time to hold them. That is why so many people are arrested for "'improper disposal of a body" instead of murder. The murder charge comes a couple weeks later. Remember one of the Aum terrorists was first arrested for trespassing so the cops could get their hands on him.

The article does not state it, but this looks like a case where the property was not officially "rented" to the user. The new trend is to charge a "usage fee" instead of "rent". That way, the renter (user) is not entitled to the normal rights guaranteed by law to an apartment renter. It is basically the same agreement one would make to use a pay-by-the-hour conference room. Eviction in a legal domicile rental agreement is a very time-consuming process.

The Chinese are the worst tourists I have encountered in Japan. Just the other day, I took visiting family to Disneyland and knew the Chinese behind us would cut in line once the gate opened. They performed as predicted. And at the hotel, a group that was broken up into separate rooms (I assume) kept the doors open half the night going back and forth between rooms and chatting in the hall in front of my door. The Chinese do as they want and don't care at all what others think about it.

Yes you do. I too have been in that situation. I was out of the system for a while when changing jobs. To get National Health Insurance I had to pay starting from the date I quit my job, six months prior.

Could someone explain how is something that pays you money "volunteer work"? I have always considered volunteer work something done for the good of your fellow man without expectation of pay. While admitting that I do not know the full details of this system, it sounds like government jobs. It may be a good idea, but it certainly doesn't sound like volunteer work (at least to me), unless you consider that any job other than forced labor is voluntary.
