Indeed. I find it significant that half of our country believes off-shore drilling will have an impact on prices within a year. In fact the US Dept of Energy's own Energy Information Administration www site http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/otheranalysis/ongr.html reveals that lifting existing restrictions on offshore drilling wouldn’t result in additional domestic oil production until 2017. Even then its impact on price at the pump is estimated to be insignificant.

Time to flip on Artic National Wildlife Reserve. This has got to be a quicker solution than offshore drilling and with far less environmental damage to worry about.

Cleo: What bully has been nabbed?

The internet bully who hanged himself. Thank god he won't be able to terrorize his classmates like that again

McCain should have used the sweet Swedish tail, Scarlett Johansson, for the ad. Now, she and Obama are exchanging e-mails. McCain has expertly played on white man's fear of black man/white woman hanky panky.

I believe teachers need to have their authority to act in loco parentis restored. No good parent would ever say "idiot" or "die you gravy sucking pig". I must admit that I'm glad, however, that this bully has been nabbed and won't be insulting others anymore.

Dinner? On the first date? Too boring. A drink is enough. If you do have dinner, share your dessert.

I always tell her how good she looks. You can't fail with that.

I almost never kiss on the first date (unless she's a sleaze), but I hope she'll be imagining what it's going to be like the next time so I always keep my lips unchapped and my hands and nails really clean and nice smelling.

Always wave with two hands (elbows in, hands close to the face) when saying goodnight.

Why is his name in the "paper" for just being arrested? You'd think this "rag" would wait until he was convicted to save him the embarrassment. Now, even if he's found innocent, he's sure to be the laughingstock of his school.

There's not much to see, however, as the nymphs are all wearing staid gym trunks, right?

Isn't there a right to look anywhere we please, if we're in a public place?

The program is definitely worth a look. I tried it and really enjoyed it. It's very systematic. My study habits are so weak. I think I need something like this to get organized.

I dated a Miss Nihon runnerup. Gorgeous, but worst girlfriend ever. Obsessed with clothes. Overemotional. Over flirtatious. Took taxis everywhere (claimed the train chikan were too much too handle). Relationship was a three-month ordeal. When I'm slow to urinate, I just imagine her face down there at the bottom of the urinal.

Did any of the ladies have a tattoo? How about sash rash? Did all that smiling cause carpal tunnel syndrome of the cheeks for anybody? How is the reception on one's walkman affected by the tiara? How long before the runner up is awarded the prize as the winner is publicly disgraced by a sex scandal? From now on, don't even bother asking for her phone number unless you're Mr. Universe. Except for the hot body, I thought Miss U kind of looked like Don Rickles after her mascara was sandblasted off. I see the tiara is now going for $750 on e-babe.

By the way, how come every beauty contestant who is interviewed always says the same thing, that real beauty is within, etc? If that's what contests were all about, why, for example, is it necessary to have a swimsuit section of the contest?

Then we can enjoy their sparkling wit and enormous breasts.

I particularly enjoyed what Miss Universe said about adult literacy. Now, let's get it on.

However, recently, I have noticed some oppression of foreign language learning by higher ups in the academic school system which is unfortunate for both students and teachers.

    For example?

Not to mention, just horrible teachers.

    Not to mention what?

Where does language learning fit in Maslow's hierarchy? If the second language produces income, it helps us make money and eat and there would, therefore, be motivation to learn. If language learning is merely for self-actualization, it might be ignored.

Personally, I need Japanese for money and dating (one of the higher needs).

It would certainly reduce noise and light pollution. I feel sorry for those who built new homes only to have a 7-11 move in next door. I also feel sorry for birds who have unwittingly changed their migration patterns due to the light emitted from the stores.

    "slumping demand"

Automobile sales in Japan fell 6.1% in May compared with the same month in 2007, according to the Japanese Automobile Dealers Association (JADA). JADA blamed the fall on having one fewer selling day in the month compared with last year and on April's sales being boosted by tax changes. Sales by Toyota fell 2.8% while Nissan sales were down by 11.4%, but Honda managed a 5.1% rise.

With the precipitous drop in the murder rate, there is absolutely no chance of this amendment being repealed. Now, drug dealers and gang bangers shoot to maim instead of shoot to kill. Who cares about a bunch of scumbags shooting another bunch of scumbags? If you don't like handguns, stay the h out of New Orleans, Memphis, Miami, etc. We can never get rid of them because the cops are always 20 minutes late.

Are those peace signs or shuttlec#cks?

That Reiko is stunningly beautiful. One might think she's pudgy because of the muscular development of her right bicep after repeatedly hammering shuttlec#cks. Perfectly proportioned as far as I'm concerned.

Larry Sanders Show, SCTV, SNL, David Letterman, Newheart

Have never seen The Office (either U.S. or U.K. version), but am a big fan of baseball blogger Michael Scheur who plays someone named Moses, I believe.

Have only seen Seinfeld 3-4 times. Sanford and Son was tough to leave off (Gerry Shandling was a writer there) as was Cheers and Mash.

Can anyone understand the popularity of the Honeymooners? I utterly despised Jackie Gleason and would immediately change the channel if that show was on. Many critics have called it the greatest comedy ever.
