Indeed, what's the deal with the phone alert? It was more scary than the earthquake itself, and started when the house movement was already stopping.

It would have not been half as bad if they had also though on using guys too.
Just using girls is so sexist and lame. I can imagine the board, with just your average, suited up, middle-age men taking the decision and laughing.

It's back to the 60s! They are going to follow the same system PLD has been using forever, they apparently don't know any other way.
But worst than this decision is how it will be implemented. That money is not going to be well-spent, going to the same old pals, and business. All these construction companies are going to build again bridges and roads where are not needed, lots of old guys will keep getting their hefty salaries for working nothing, etc.
Problem is no matter how long you want to keep these companies working the old way, it's not 1970 anymore!

I think it's a terrible idea, and not at all a solution. Hashimoto as usual doesn't have a clue of what's going on and only wants his kids not at home.
If you are a parent, can you refuse to bring the kid to the school on Saturdays? I'd do so.

And here come the rating vultures..
American companies that were proved useless when their system was giving AAA to bankrupted companies. But they insist to attack other countries financial systems for the interest of the USA. First was Europe, now will be Japan.

The beauty of a Ferrari cannot be seen on the roads in Japan, which makes them useless expensive things unless you can access to a circuit.
Yaaap, I guess if you have a ferrari 100,000 yen is spare change.

I wonder if it would be possible to know where the ingredients from manufactured food come from. It is feasible to control were the vegetables you buy are from, but how do you know where did the big company bought the meat for that gyoza at the supermarket? Where Does the konbini onigiri rice comes from?
Is there some way to know where the factories are located? Do people ask them about what ingredients do they use? Are the companies willing to cooperate?
Is the answer NO, as usual?

I hope Hulu gets better in Japan. It's a good idea and nice to have subtitles in japanese, but tried it for a month and they only had bad 90s films on the catalog.
