Wow, this one is going to be a doozy I can see... Obviously this guy needs a lot of mental help, and probably some drugs to help stabilize his mind so he can think straight. Maybe then something would be found out. But it even seems like he may not be responsible for the girl's death - but may be responsible for putting her body there. But even that may not be true - he may have just found her body there and done nothing at all. How are mental patients handled in Japan?

Personally I think the Street View is excellent. There have been many times where I missed something totally and had to rely upon the Street View to find it properly. I think people in Japan are being parnoid for nothing.

I see someone else believes the same that I do, that the high value of the Japanese Yen is partially what is dooming the workforce of Japan today. If the value of the Yen was about 1/2 what it is now, then I think that trade would still be flourishing with Japan. But as I noted before, it is pretty darn scary that grown people panic so bad that their minds go blank when given a pink slip. That in itself is not healthy. I think Japan's workforce is getting a much needed reality check.

Wow, it took Japan Today for me to find this news out... I have not seen it anywhere in the US yet... Star Trek shaped my life for me from the late 1960's onward - it has been a part of my life forever and inspired many dreams for me. May she rest in peace - a new star is shining in heaven today.

Ads like this will work in the US actually - especially if they offer to take back the used vehicles at a significant portion of the original sale price. But Toyota makes the same case that I do - that lowering the use of fuel lowers the amount of emissions generated and is better for the environment - you do not have to lower the particulate matter in the output necessarily to be more environmentally friendly. Using less carbon fuel is also more environmentally friendly.

I have owned nearly every make and model vehicle from every manufacturer in the past 25 years. The Japanese cars are far superior to the American cars. The German cars are even better. Even Kia is better than most American cars. The big 3 automakers in the US need to make a better car - period - before blaming anyone else for anything. Why is it that of all the car makers in the world, ONLY the US branches LOSE money while everyone else is enjoying a PROFIT even with the economic turndown? Probably because of all those greedy execs who get money for nothing in the US corporations, versus the other car companies where the execs dont make more than the top paid desk worker - quite a big difference is how things are viewed and what it means to "give your all" for the company....

Hmmm, the news here is that Sony is cutting 16,000 jobs, not 8,000... Which is true? Is Sony under-reporting what they are doing to the Japanese media to prevent some type of panic within Japan itself?

It is an issue of safety. They need to have the cellphones on them at all times, even in school, in class, where ever they are. And they need to be on and ready to receive any type of emergency call, and be able to make any type of emergency call at any point in time. Confiscation of the cellphones by teachers is a life threatening act that can cost a child their life. Such actions should be banned.

So, does this mean an average human or an athletic human? An average human can put out 1/10th HP, while an athletic human can put out 1/4 HP. So what is the horsepower of the Eneloop? 1/5th HP or 1/2 HP?

For where I live in the US, an electric bike is one that goes no more than 20mph when assisted by the electric motor. But that being said, I can pedal a normal bike and reach about 30mph if I try really hard. Some top athletes can reach the 60 to 70mph range.

While in general I am all for the multi support of all religions, I believe that if YOU believe in something, others should accept your "Merry Christmas" and return with their own greeting - whether it be "Happy Holidays" or "Hanukkah Blessings Upon You!" or even "Blessed Be!". There is no reason to be angry for receiving any type of holiday greeting from someone. The truly open minded should respond in the general spirit of things and be happy that someone cared enough to give you a special holiday greeting - even if it is not your own. Acceptance is what is necessary for a future world.

Wow, so young! Can kids go in and have surgery without parent's consent? Sort of sounded like that was possible based on how the article was written. I can see removing the mole and other correctional type issues, but what do they mean by "folded eyelids"? Seems like there should be a law banning cosmetic surgery for kids to make them look like an idol.

Why such a low resolution? I had one like that that was a tiny bit larger nearly 20 years ago. They need to make one that works in HD resolutions, for 1/3 the price.

Hmmmm, sounds like Japanese students need some grounding in how the real world works if they are going to be shocked by losing a job before they even start it - and the shock is so bad they cannot even concentrate on what they are doing. Maybe instead of concentrating on University studies, they need to be inducted into the real world workforce while in the equivalent of the US Junior High, and work a multitude of different type of jobs - everywhere from the lowest to the highest, so when they actually enter the University they know what the real world has to offer and how the real world works. Something societal has to change in Japan in order for Japan to move forward into the new Global Economy world of the 21st century.

Can someone explain to me why porn has to be censored in Japan in the first place? It makes no sense, and only adds to the frustration level of the viewers, ultimately creating a more violent society as a whole.

Is there any further insight into this other than "he just snapped?" This is a bit too personal for just that. Did the older couple DO something to him, or cause him to lose his job or something like that? Are followups ever done to stories like this?

I have always loved Miyazaki's works. I thought he also did Castle of Cagliostro, the Lupin the III film, and Kiki's Delivery Service too. Both of these are the first of his films that I saw, and have always loved for a long time. I had also liked his Puss in Boots as well, having seen that as a real young kid - but I never knew that he was the one who made that one (or even that it came from Japan) for a LONG time.

The are rioting in Thailand at the airports right now, storming the airport buildings, reports of gunfire being exchanged in the streets even. I guess this is a big deal...

No to both. But I think they should have breath tests available so people can see if they are legally drunk or not before driving. The passengers may be drunker than the person driving, so they may not even know - its stupid to hold the passengers liable.

I am all for pampering a pet. Nothing wrong with that. People could use a bit of pampering too.
