Tiffanny, Gucci, Coach and LV were all in Shinjuku at one time or another, then closed and now are reappearing, probably due to the stronger yen, new demand from inbound travelers, etc. For Chinese, they want the real thing, not the knock offs sold in China.

felguard, don't you have to buy a plan with one of the Japanese providers to be able to get the phone? If so, then the Chinese can't just buy and resell as you said.

Physical stature may seem to be a disadvantage but look at some of the Japanese swimmers such as Kitajima and Hagino who have done well in Olympic and World Championships. Kitajima dominated for several years and he was smaller than his rivals.

Several Japanese female friends who have gotten on those Women-only cars said that the women in there are pushy and bitchy as they want their own space and fight for it, that they have no manners. One friend said that she saw the women push out a guy as he was trying get in the car before the doors closed. So these friends prefer riding in the mixed cars of the train.
