My company 15 years ago banned such stupid commercial practices, freeing up everyone from such obligatory and meaningless gift giving. It had put such a financial strain on the women, especially the OLs who hated their bosses.

Monies generated from donations to the Red Cross earmarked for the earthquake are not used for whaling at all but rather the budget by the government are being used. Donations and government budget are two different items. Don't get them mixed up.

Delta will start its Haneda services Jan. 29, 2011 and not next month as the story indicated.
As for the comments about service, I flew on DL for the first time in two years and found the service excellent, staff very friendly and food was great. It has really improved.
