I don't understand that why the US becomes so crabby about relocation of Futenma air base. Japan did not say "We don't you all anymore and so all go home". Japan just wants Futenma air base to move to another better place that DPJ thinks. Futenma base is one of many many US bases. and all US marines go to Guam. After all The US can keep all bases in Okinawa as almost same as before. Why is the US so upset about it? Because maybe Japan said "NO" for the first time?

Japan should take time about relocation of Futenma air base. It seems that Japan does not want to be told what to do about it in big hurry as a big hurry makes a big mistake. As for Who makes final decision about it, That is Japan. The US should wait for the decision with decent respect. I think that DPJ would not accept it easily anymore as the same as LDP used to do it.

cleo - There are more than 40 million old people (age of 50 - 90). They still remember good taste of whale meat because they often ate them when they were younger. It is still large market, I think.

I think that whaling is one culture of Japan and it would not stop it ever. Anti-whalers think whales are beautiful animals to observe but pro-whalers think whales are just food to eat. I've heard that Japan has been doing it for hundreds of years.

Obama is very happy to receive Nobel Peace Prize, so he should visit these cities. If he does not go, he should give up the Nobel.

The committee wants to give Nobel peace prize to Obama. OK, Why don't they give him it 10 years later? Everyone wants to see some achievements.

OK, Kim Jong il would have a Nobel Prize when he decided to dismantle nuclear weapon program. He makes peace for the world.

I don't think that N Korea would give up the nuclear weapons whatever happens. It might go back to 6 party talks again but nothing would get anywhere. N Korea would talk out of the talks again soon and would come back again after aid of energy and food. The best solution is all nations will ignore N Korea for a couple of decades.

I don't mind Rio or any country hosts Olympics in 2016. I've heard something about high crime rate in Rio. I'm not sure about it. Is there no problem about security or safety there if I go see? I don't hope any tragedy like it happened long time ago.

I knew that from the beginning Rio would win and there would be no chance for Chicago, Tokyo. Anyway no baseball, softball games in 2016. No fun!

It seems that she run away with her children to Japan from her ex-husband because he remarried with other mistress shortly right after the divorce. He had love-affair with other girls secretly before divorce. He might have abused her often to divorce. I can imagine she was so isolated, lonely, helpless there. He dumped her anyway. She broke the law, but what she has done is understandable to me.

Someone says parental kidnapping is federal offense but arrest warrant is as long as in US. She just brought her own children home in Japan without father's answer. This is not kidnapping at all in Japan, so not against the Japan's law at least. someday she may be back to the US 50 years later to see her ex-husband again if she wants. Maybe US requests extradition in the future but Japan will not because she is not criminal in Japan as she did not break any law here and she did not kill anyone. She just found way to live.

I really doubt that Obama would talk about this issue with Hatoyama and J government next month. I say "It Never happens". This is absolutely private matter and she is not a criminal. Obama will be much busier about foreign policies with Japan, China, both Koreas, Iran, etc. He will never talk about such a damn thing.

It seems that she was trapped by he planned before they left Japan for US. He wanted children from her. He was thinking about divorce in US. He was actually remarried soon right after the divorce to take children from her. At that time she had to work for children but could not find job because she did not know much about there and nobody supported her about almost everything. Maybe she broke damn American law but she did make right decision to survive in this world and for her children who can speak Japanese and who were originally born here. No problem at all about children's school in Japan and about her working better here. She anyway no problem as long as she and her children live here. Well, this is one mother's decision.

I think people think this is a kidnapping or a crime of something, however this is not any crime at all and unfortunately can not kidnapping in Japan because as long as she birthed her children. She just brought her own children to Japan. They really need to talk each other about this to solve.
