I wonder why the US spends a lot of money to deploy so many soldiers in Okinawa. I think the US had better cut budget of military and save money for bad recession. It looks like the US is strong enough ready to make another war.

If IOC admits Olympic games 2016 in Japan, I want to think the games not in Tokyo. There are other possible good places besides Tokyo. Ishihara thinks Tokyo is a rich and well-known city, so that is reason he wants Olympic games in Tokyo. But Maybe Aomori, Yamagata, etc are good places with cooler weather in summer as I assume Tokyo weather will be hotter 7 years later.

The US government wants to post Air Bases and Naval ports all over in Japan because Japan support billions of money to the US. Japan is also convenient place for strategical missions to watch NKorea, China, South Asia, Russia, Persian Gulf, etc. If the US post all Air Bases and Naval ports in Guam instead of in Japan, She does not support more than the US expects.

Betzee - JT should post this article on National. It happend only 2 days ago. Many many other dog breeders have hard time to sell puppies lately as prices are going down. Some bad breeders send puppies to local "Hokenjo" where they put dogs in gas room. Shelters try to save dogs as many as they can but there are too many they can't afford to save all.

All guide dogs are very lucky, promised to go to retirement (nursing) home after retired. Contrary to this, I heard a very sad news the other day that a dog breeder left whole bunch of young dogs and puppies starved to death in cages. He said he could not feed dogs because under bad recession he could not sell dogs with good price.

I think that majority of Japanese think they (can't refuse)need nuclear power plants to produce electricity although these plants have some problems sometimes but can be controllable (even if 7.0M earthquakes happen)under safety except done by ignorant employees at Tokaimura years ago. However people worry very much about nulcear war ship because it can be a good target for enemy. They worry if it was destroyed by enemy. To me I think Japan needs the nuclear war ship as deterrent power to prevent attack/war.

USS George Wsshington shows an American Power to other countires to maintain freedom and democracy in Pacific. The US maybe defends Japan from invasion/nuclear attack in the future, but I doubt it and majority of people doubt it.

Today is Sunday, day-off! Nobody wants to demonstrate on streets. People prefers to enjoy time at other places. Government is doing something on economy for people but LDP's action is just too slow to decide and proceed.

Mz - What I am saying is that in Japan there is shortage of any doctors especially not enough obstetricians and gynecologists in hospitals. When natural birth happens, doctors might not be availabe or not on duty when you go to hospital. If doctors use medicine in advance to induce labor pain, doctors be there for you. There is NO obs/gyne doctor or one doctor in many hospitals when you need to go there.

I think that this kind of tragedy that does not often happen in Japan is irrelevant to any part of culture or anything Japanese. This case like that mother having 5 kids delivered new baby and then both died and stupid husband did not know when they died is very rare incident as far as I know and though I've been here for a long time. They are just ignorant about family.
