Futenma base is just one of many many bases in Japan. Why is such a marines helicopter base a big issue? The base that moves to the Kadena air base is more understandable. Or maybe Japan does not need marines base at all.

I wonder how many US soldiers have died so far during combats there in Afghanistan and Iraq. It seems that America has been cursed by war as America could never stop wars. I think next America's war would be against Iran after Afghanistan. But I don't hope so.

As for any crimes by service men outside US bases, not inside the bases, should generally be in the jurisdiction of Japan. The suspects should be handed over to Japan police for investigation. The agreement, not everything, should be revised if they can't investigate.

I think that someone is mixed up about all matters. The State's interest is different from individual soldier crime commitment. It is not understandable, rather wrong that "We can commit all kinds of crimes here since we have been protecting Japan". That kind of person is usually a dictator.
