  Deflation is causing us all to buy cheaper cheaper cheaper and the Japanese manufacturers cannot compete for that market.

  That's not true for me. I buy my cloth all at my local Japanese tailor and my shoes at the local shoemaker.

  Although China has surpassed Japan as the world’s second-largest economy, Japan had more of what are considered top global brands than did China, it said.

  Looking at the fact that only 10 years ago China was considered a third world country in need of support, building a global brand will take some more time.

  Ironically the Japanese, as one of the biggest investors in China, enable the Chinese to --rather sooner than later-- kill the Japanese brands on the global market.

  Looking at the daily news on Japan, now that I am back in Europe, there is nothing, whilst one reads about China, and other Asian countries, on a daily base. The world has lost its interest in the once admired and feared Japan.

  History has proved that the Japanese can adapt easily to any kind of situation.

  If history is a lesson, then Japan's radical chances never came easy and always at horrible cost for society.

  Everyone's looking down and whinging. I would rather seek chances outside this stagnated country.

  That's the very reason why I left Japan, just one week ago. Though I go one step further and claim that the country is not stagnant, but in terminal decline.

  Well, I've heard this myth about overstuffed overhead bins, but in all my flying days, I've never had a problem. It this a US problem?

  Same with me, never had a problem; but --despite flying all over the world-- I've never been to the US.

  I do not understand the purpose of this kind of fear-mongering. I do not see that people at Sony start their day with "good morning" or at FUSO with "Guten Morgen" just because their boss is foreigner, or that they are foreign owned.
