  They are protected by the government much like the deers.

  So monkeys are protected and dolphins not. It could be an idea to exchange the protection for one year and everyone is happy.

  Pedestrian deaths compared to overall traffic fatalities are higher in Japan than in the U.S. and many other nations because of Japan’s narrow and crisscrossing crowded streets.

  Interesting point. I always wondered why there are not many more accident between cyclists / pedestrians and cars as the rule of thumb is: when crossing don't look just walk / drive; if you look the car driver will assume you'll stop.

  The author provides one example of an illusive person called "mister A". I don't think that is enough evidence that this problem is real or really as bad as claimed.

  Yet another reason why 6ft-high gates should be installed on platforms.

  If all train operators would be profitable they could built these fences, but currently they have only money to install "blue lights" to deter suicidal people from disrupting traffic.

  If there would be no demand, there would be no hunt. "The cove" itself claims that the killing is a side product of the demand for new show dolphins created by this entertainment industry.

  Most customers are white smug bourgeoisie people who claim to protect the earth and want to show the marine world to their little ones in these "Seaworlds" all around the world.

  This double standard and lack of understanding the impact of ones actions is sickening.

  The long-held assumption that capitalism requires democracy is being challenged by China, which has adopted some capitalist ideas while retaining an authoritarian government.

  Capitalism never needed democracy, just look towards Singapore.

  We had seen similar "news" all the years in the 80s, only that China was Japan. I assume in 20 years we will leave the Chinese model behind and read how the "African model" will take over the US as Number One.
