People, sending money is the most preferable and most efficient thing that we can do right now. Even if you send stuff now, there are no way to be provided to the people in those areas because the normal logistics is still not working. We cannot send anything to there even from inside of Japan. After few months later, it would be OK. Be patient and let's do whatever we can do right now.

Now I'm watching Season 8 and still have 2 epithodes to watch. Unfortunately I know how it ends before I watch last 2 epithodes. I expected Jack would be dead because this is the final season.
I like 24 very much because Japanese people can learn a lot about patriotism.

US bases are absolutely necessary in Okinawa, especially in the current situation with S/N Korea and China. I know there are many people in Okinawa who are not against US bases. If Japan discuss the removal of US bases out of Japan, we also have to discuss having military so that Japan can fight independently. Moreover, the governer cannot decide the removal of US bases because this is what the government should decide.

Because they have to finish the Christmas decorations on 25 december precisely. The new year is more important for Japanese, so they have to change everything especially in shopping centers or supermarkets. On 26 dec. the promotion for the new year begins. They don't have much time. Thus they have to begin the Christmas decoration early.
Christmas is for fun and gift, which help Japanese economy stimulate. The new year is traditional with families, which push up the economy, too.
I don't think all the illuminations are for Christmas. You can feel warm in the winter time by seeing illumination light.

Japan has paid a lot of money to China as ODA (Official Development Assistant) since 1979. The total amount turns to be 3 trillion yen. I believe this aid helped Chinese people richer. Stopping this is much far outweight the acceptance Chinese tourists.

It's a better move that the activists get a chance to express their opinion. As a Japanese, I hope they will never break the fishermen's property, which they did while they were making "The Cove." Also, they should visit just one of the monuments which Japanese built to mourn whales and dolphins.

Yes, they accept foreigners, as long as they live in Japan, as a party member or supporter. In their Japanese page, they say "民主党の基本理念と政策に賛同する１８歳以上の方なら、どなたでもなれます。在外邦人または在日外国人の方でもＯＫです."(Anybody who agree with the basic principles and agenda can become a party member, incl. Zenny11- I am talking about Japan and Japanese citizens usually cannot elect the PM. First of all, Japanese Constitution allows only people with Japanese nationality to have suffrage rights.
Ordinary citizens cannot vote this time, of course, unless he\she is a "DPJ member or supporter" because this is the leadership election of one party. You can be a "DPJ member or supporter" if you registrate yourself and pay annual membership dues of 6,000 yen or 2,000 yen, no matter what your nationality is. In Japanese politics, the leader of the ruling party becomes the PM. Thus even if you dont have Japanese nationality, you can vote this time because you can buy the right to vote by 2,000 yen.

The biggest problem here is that even foreigners can vote as long as he/she is a member of DPJ.

Disillisioned-The example of dolphins' breaking aquafarms might have been a little bit confusing. I just wanted to show the different point of view. The dolphin hunting is allowed by the Japanese law, but I accept the way of killing seems cruel though it is the tradition. How many people know that there are shrines where whales/dolphins are enshrined, and monuments or cemetries for whales and dolphins to express gratitude for their lives?

neogreenjapan-Regarding the mercury level, yes, dolphin meat contains more mercury. Japanese gov't has certin indications about the maximum consumption per day, especially for kids and pregnant women.

Dolphins sometimes break aquafarms belong the coast. This is one reason why people have to hunt dolphins. Does he have the alternative way to protect the aquafarms from attacking by dolphins? Or does he have the new technology which give minimum pain to dolphins in being hunted? He can go to Taiji and discuss above with people in Taiji. I think this is the easiest way to solve dolphin problem.

bicultural-Whale meat had been sold in supermarket across the country until 1986. But, according to "Catch a Wave" (27 May, 2005),
Dolphin hunting is one of Japanese tradition and people in Solomon Islands are also hunting dolphins.
