You know, its bad enough that, as standard debate practice, that people ALWAYS take the worst possible meaning from someone's words when there are two or more choices available. But this is not even that crappy practice. You are just completely redefining the word militant. You now think it means "willing to kill wantonly"? It does not even necessarily mean to be armed! Nation of Islam is so NOT Islam that many of its famous members converted to real Islam. Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, his wife Betty Shabazz, and Warith Deen Mohammed, none other than the son of Elijah Muhammad himself. Nation of Islam is about as Islam as Haitian Voodoo is Christian. If that does not compute with you, look up Voodoo.
Oh, well that seals it. I am sure some pretty good people practice Voodoo, so its as Christian as they say it is now. Um, NOT.
Well it bothers real Muslims quite a lot. Their beliefs about whites and their separatism, and their non-acceptance of white members goes against Islam.
Not just now skip, I have done this several times, always based on what I read from the Koran (usually by rooting out far better written passages than the irresponsibly thin ones readers here have presented, as well as observing what most Muslims think or would seem to think, there being a billion of them in this world.)

That is like when a schizo person said "God told me to kill him", you are actually beleiving that has something to do with religion. The schizo person has actually just associated the voices in his head with God. Its an excuse, albeit not a remotely consciously chosen one. These nuts are not much different. They associated their violent tendencies with religion to justify their own violent tendencies. Or, you can take the NOI is bunk route too if you want. I believe both.

You are right. They don't eat pork and they are militant. So they are plenty Muslim for several posters here.
And the fact that they think Allah appeared as a person by the name of Wallace D. Fard in July 1930 is but a trifle. And that they believe the latest prophet is not the Muhammad we all know and love, but rather Elijah Muhammad, who was Elijah Poole before that and died in 1975, also a trifle. And never mind that anyone else that calls themselves Muslim considers both those facts to be utter blasphemy.
You can put lipstick on a pig, and its still a pig. But you rip the guts and brains out and fill it wires and gears and a speaker in the throat and remote control mechanisms, it might still walk and squeal like a pig, but ain't no pig.
Even if they were teaching these guys real Islam in prison, they still are not real Muslims. They are just nutjobs incapable of getting anything right. If they are NOI, they are just double the phoney.

So would I. But I can tell you that by entering the many churches I have, I learned a lot more about the people in them than about Christianity itself.

A fact only a very simple mind makes a full conclusion on. I don't need to do any research to tell you that Christianity was once the fastest growing religion in our prisons. The fact tells us nothing but that we need to dig more; A LOT more.
But before I even bother to dance with this continued charade about expertise on Islam with JT posters, we need to establish one fact right now: These guys would not happen to have converted to Nation of Islam? Because Nation of Islam is Islam about as much as a hamburger is made of ham, or silver spray paint contains real silver.
I would also like to know which you are accusing American black prisoners in general of converting to teleprompter. Surely, you know?

Two problems Judge Hoserfella: 1) no woman ever asks for it, not even the ones that don't ask for the help of strangers and had a good time, 2) you have no evidence that any touching occurred, yet here you are dead certain that it did. Why? Granted that most females are pretty honest about it when they make such a complaint (as honest as they are silent when they loved every minute of it) but that DOES NOT mean that women are incapable of lying. They can lie, and they sometimes do. They have also been known to exaggerate. Handle with care, because you might get burned Judge.

Gee, I don't remember calling you or anyone else stupid Skip. But if my words made you feel that I was calling you stupid (and that would be you skip, and no one else) then so be it.
Anyway, we would need to go verse for verse. Pick one. I have seen plenty of translations, and it does not take a genius to look at two translations and guess which is probably the more precise one. The more precise one tends to have details and qualifiers, something that deceivers tend to leave out. And the deceivers of this board either never bother to find alternate translations or they purposely choose the thinner more bendable one, and shape accordingly.

This story is not possible. Its a well known fact that Japanese do not help or care about eachother, much less hold a perp until the police arrive. (sarcasm off).
Anyway, the unemployed WOMAN is liable to get a nice settlement. I doubt the passer-by qualifies as a witness, because I bet he did not see anything until the woman called for help.
I would say the odds are good that he is guilty. But odds are not good enough to decide guilt. Looks like yet another "He said/ she said" scenario. I can only hope the passer-by did see something (or saw that there was nothing to see) and we can pronounce fair judgement.

Of people I would spare the death penalty, and that is everybody, this guy is definitely one of the last. So what gives? It would seem that Iraqi life is just not as valuable. I am glad to see life in prison meted out, but the reasoning behind it SUCKS.
It is amazing that members of his family are supporting him in any way, shape or form. I expect more from my own. If he were a relative of mine, I would waste no time in denouncing him. If he were a relative and in my presence, my anti-death stance would likely fly out the window with my rage. You might have to restrain me, lest I took him out myself.

These guys were not looking for religion. They were looking for excuses. The New Testament can also be twisted into excuses, and it has, a great many times. It just is not in vogue with inmates right now. Today, the Koran is. And I tell you what, willful translations from Arabic into English sure help when you are trying to convey a particular excuse toward wanton violence through twisting the actual meaning.

No, but their subconcious mind is, and that is where they get failed. They have bought into a whole lot of crap when they take their vows. And none of it meshes with the situations they find themselves in. Some people are rational enough to finally see the disparity enough to get out. Most are not or they would not have taken those vows in the first place.
I have to agree with jeancolmar; They do make their own pervs. And I also agree with Abraham Moslow; sex is a human need. Going without can make you mental.

I would not make that bet skip. No doubt some do, but most? No. You put a male in a room full of people and most will sort out a few sexually attractive ones. In the absence of any (like adult females for example) and given enough exposure (time) and desperation, some of the previously uninteresting ones get interesting, even if they are male. And nobody has pent up sexual frustration like a Catholic priest! These guys got away with it often because they made a good first impression with everybody, which was easy to do since, at that time, even THEY themselves had no such ideas.
I stand corrected. Release the nuns then. Here is your finger smacking ruler back Sister Mary. And your rattan bottom smacking cane back Mother Superior. Oh, its not your fault about Winter Steele.

I have no shortage of outrage for these scumbuckets. And I hope to see oodles and oodles of outrage to come in this thread and no pathetic attempts to muddle the issue just because they were American soldiers. Unfortunately, I think there would be more outrage if the 14 year old had sex with one guy, was unharmed, and not the least upset, instead of brutally gang raped, murdered and her corpse burned. Bizarre, but seems to be true.

What the...? No dude, all people who abused their power and abused their charges should be arrested and tried. This is not about what people are, as in being a pedophile. This is about what they did, as in abusing. Plus, you are leaving out a lot of nuns and others who beat their charges, but did nothing sexual.
