And these are the people who are suppose to be keeping us safe?

Aggie, you might want save such comments for when something ACTUALLY happens. The planes were not flown by terrorists and the president is not a psychic, nor he can he be everywhere at once.

At least Obama did not put down a copy of "My Pet Goat" and blink dumbly into the camera. He is peeved about this and taking action. And nobody died.

When you sling mud, you only lose ground.

The J-media are insulting themselves more than Kusanagi now.

Skip: If I go Dem, I lose out on my main people

Cut across party lines. Republilcans do not have to vote for Republicans.

I think it is disgusting that any party, which will criticize the other, would allow for something like this.

How can they prevent it? I do not think they can officially ban him can they? You yourself are chooseing a party at your whim.

Besides, I doubt Specter ever criticized Dems like one of the scumbags on the right, like Rush Limbaugh, and it would be unfair to lump him with that ignorant SOB when you only have two viable choices of party in America.

Basically, I doubt Specter will be voting any differently, so the real change will be minimal and mostly image.

Its too bad we cannot judge these guys on their votes instead of their stripes. And its too bad we have so many pack animals among us with a vote of their own.

People, he mentioned the movie in a speech. The speech was not about or centered on the movie. So get over it.

TexasAggie: This administration is beyond moronic.

So you are blaming the whole admin for a decision the President himself did not know about?

In Obama's America it is OK for aircraft to buzz NYC.

Flying over New York was not the core problem. So I suggest you go lightly with the word "moronic".

It says they both hit her. But I am still baffled as to why Mindovermatter wants to spend 10 minutes alone with Kobayashi, but not the mother.

An administration official said the purpose of the photo op was to update file photos of the president’s plane near the famous statue.

But that does not tell us who the idiot is that made that decision. As if that just NEEDS to be done.

The photo op was combined with a training exercise to save money

Spending 100 thousand dollars on something useless instead of 150 thousand dollars is NOT SAVING MONEY. Its known as THROWING OUR TAX MONEY DOWN A HOLE.

And to think that without mass panic this crap would never come to light.

Helter_Skelter: Likeitis, stricter gun control does not correlate to lower gun homicide rates.

Where did I say it did?

What I advocate is smarter gun control methods. Unregistered guns in the hands of unlicensed users is STUPID no matter how strict you get about it.

womanforwomen: Basis for thinking- read JT news, watch NHK news, read Seicho Matsumoto and talk to Japanese freinds.

Dear God! Its worse than I thought. This is a nice list of ways to completely NOT get a proper handle on the big picture. A pile of individual incidents in a country of 127,000,000 people is not enough to declare anything "rampant". And neither JT nor NHK feels it has any responsibility to clue you in as to the big picture. All they care about is getting you to read or watch, and all news is hand picked to do just that.

In this photo, they look kinda tired.

Despite carrying a heavy object around, they do not look tired at all. Besides, exercise keeps a girl fit.

Maybe, these ladies would have a great time if they were at a beach clad in their best beachwear. They can feel free, feel comfortable and have as much fun as they would want.

Looks to me like they are having a great time in Akihabara clad in their best maid costumes. Looks like they feel free, comfortable and having as much fun as they would want.

Are you looking at the pic, or just seeing what you want to see? You are just going to stress yourself out this way. Agreed, a lot of the Japanese ways would not work in other places, but things are generally just fine in J-land, as generally fine as anywhere else, maybe even a bit better.

At least it might cost taxpayers less than Kusanagi's contract. Why in the "beep" does this need to be promoted anyway? Its being forced on us with a happy face, a happy face that is costing even more money than the expensive change.

Ultrashaman: Why is it that once this poll went off the main page, the most angry comments suddenly appeared?

Because conservatives don't argue to find the truth or discover what is fair. They don't really care about the truth or fairness. They seek influence and power. Once a topic leaves the main page, they know it will not be read as much, because they themselves cannot be bothered to sustain the debate. They too busy trying to get their way while walking on others.

RegVarney: I don't understand the widespread support for gingers on this thread.

Might be because you have taken the wrong tack. I for one am not supporting them. I am supporting their rights. Said it before, its the principles, not the people. Since you focus on the people, let me guess where you lie on the political spectrum.

Us normal people don't flaunt ourseleves in public like gays.

Might be because normal people are not under attack? But this is another fallacy. Not all gays flaunt themselves, and not all "normal" people don't. Plenty of heteros flaunt their sexuality.

Stone the crows they'll be wanting the same tax rights as married people next.

    Why not?

    2) The people who earned their place in the shrine as a result of a conviction in one of the tribunals died as a direct result or during the time served because they were found guilty of any of the charges.

Which is basically saying their crimes were all part of serving the emperor. The above is a really clever attempt to justify the war criminals being honored at Yasukuni, and took the rightists of Yasukuni decades to come up with. The war criminals who were hung after the war were not honored until the 70's. In other words, its contrived bullcrap, and it upsets Japan's neighbors because they can see right through it, as can I.

It is sad the lies and bullcrap spread on this board have such complicated terms to define them. It only makes it more difficult to identify the lies and the bullcrap.

But thank you SezWho2 for precisely identifying a significant part of that particular stinker.

If the J majority does not approve this then why such incidents are rampant?

Prove it. Not to us, because the mod will not allow it, but I think you have no good basis for thinking this "rampant" in Japan and Japan alone.

    Do something about it.

What would you like to see done? I do not think instilling the desire in people to TURN THEMSELVES IN can fairly be termed "doing nothing". You?

First of all, the majority population can encourage everyone to seek help in matters like this.

There are posters at schools that do just that. In a general sense mind you, and not clearly after being forced to prostitute by mom. That would be...excessive.
