The "man" is short for "human", whether male or female. Almost all those words ending in "man" are. So get over it.
Or, I motion that a male human now be correctly termed "guy" and the word "man" becomes completely equivalent to "human". Then the name Serversman won't offend the hypersensitive anymore.

Never fear, all you haters out there. These people only ensure that they and theirs remain in the dark ages and that their brains never develop properly. If that is what they think their religion wants, let them do it and be forever dominated by the west. Let them walk the path of idiocy, that way, we never have to deal with them on even footing.

Good move for the 15, albeit late. The other 20 should be heavily taxed.

Its like somebody put you under hypnosis and forgot to snap their fingers!
Which was still under Bush. The lengths you go to to absolve Bush but blame a president elect are frankly getting creepy. I am wondering if you have pictures of Bush stuck on the ceiling above your bed, and if you stalk him too.

Its a sad law, but its no mystery. How stupid do you have to be to break it, then run from the authorities? Sure it does not warrant getting drug away by the hair, but you break the law and try to run, then you get what you get.
And you got to love the way they just completely brush aside what happened to the man in that case. Naturally, the focus here is mostly on how the women are oppressed.
As much as it would be nice if the law changed, one must consider the consequences of it doing so. Stories of Arab men who cannot handle themselves properly around women are quite common. This is simply from not growing up in a culture where they have to learn to do so. Instead, they have this law. Take away the law without properly training the males, and all hell will break loose. A whole bunch of women will get worse than drug away by the hair.

Actually I was thinking we passed the point of not being able to afford it long ago.
One would think that a funeral, at least, could be sacred, even amongst the most barbaric of people.
But since the Iraqis now have democracy, I am sure they all died happy, or so someone will probably try and convince us.

Something we have to accept about the term non-lethal is that it applies to a lot of things that do have the power to kill. The point is, it does not usually and is not designed to kill. If we start applying the term lethal to anything and everything that can occaisonally kill, then I am afraid nothing is non-lethal, not even water. Remember the woman killed by her own scarf on the escalator? How many die from mochi each year?
The term non-lethal is not an absolute nor was it ever intended to be. It was made simply to separate weapons from those very specifically designed to kill. If we nix it, then suddenly it becomes meaningless to say the hands of Chuck Norris are lethal weapons. Because anybody's hands could potentially kill. The point is that the hands of Chuck Norris have far more potential to kill. The hands of most people are not trained to kill so easily, so we could say they are non-lethal. Same with stun guns. The overwhelming majority of the time when used on people, they do not kill. Compare that to guns.
The desire for perfection is all well and good, but until the perfect non-lethal weapon is found, I am happy with the stun gun. It seems to me that the real problem is not the weapon but the user most of the time anyway. Like the cops that tazed the woman who needed a walker to get around not so long ago.

Subject his parents to the usual interrogation of suspects if they have not already.
Its hard to for me to view them as guiltless. They raised a monster, but they didn't know?
I think they might have more information than they let on. Their phones should probably be tapped secretly too.

Those exaggerations do do damage. I feel justified in preempting them, because I have read SO DARN many in response to articles just like this one.
You feel this article is important, and I will accept that, for you, it is. I will even admit that the article and headline are pretty balanced this time. But there are those who would have gone off half-cocked, like they always do, and attempted to completely wipe the floor with Islam over this. They still might. Sorry, but I am pretty sick of it.

The right of journalists to play just as fast and loose and just as irresponsibly as they like with words has been clearly established, particularly when it comes to the wording of the headline. I am not sure if we are supposed to accept or disregard all the nuances of words like doomsday, or threat, or demand, or just be good and quiet little posters or what.

Sure thing!
I agree with the threat part. I also don't mind if a cop actually uses the nightstick, so long as he has restraint and uses it only when he really really has to.

I cannot say I have any hard data, but I imagine that whacking people over the head and chop-blocking them had a higher fatality rate, not to mention permanent injury rate. Until somebody shows me some hard data showing otherwise, I am going to defend the tazer over the nightstick.
If he attacked a cop, he gets stun-gunned. It follows quite naturally. You never know if one of these people are armed, or if their even deadly unarmed like some nuts and drug addicts are. Police have the right to defend themselves.
The only things I am keeping my open to are these: The cops are lying and they were not attacked and might have actually tried to break up the fight via stun gun (stupid) or 2) they tazed him and tazed him and tazed him until he died. They should taze a person until they (the cops) are out of danger, and taze them no more. But I believe that many cops and security personnel think they have to taze people until they just completely stop resisting, which is excessive and dangerous. I saw security guards do that on Youtube at a speech (think it was John Kerry). They tazed him as he begged them to stop. Such people don't belong in security and law enforcement. They seem to get off on tazing people.

Alphaape, I did not mean to imply that all unions are perfect, or even good. But surely workers should have a right to make unions, and we are better off having them checking the companies that used to literally kill us.
My point was simply that the rich and the power hunger have a tendency to screw people over, particularly if left unchecked. They do not need to be in the government. They don't need to be at the top of corporations. Yes, they can also be part of unions. And yes, those people need to have some fear put into them as well.
My point was that they can probably afford to not take our money. Some people seem to think its ok since the money was stolen cleverly. Uh, NOT!
There is no crime, as in a violation of laws. What we have is a gross violation of trust and principle, and it is a crime in another sense. And those things are EXTREMELY important. Laws cannot possibly begin to account for everything. And we cannot ever make them fast enough to account for a complete loss of trust and rampant violation of principles. Just because they have not violated the word of law DOES NOT mean they are correct or innocent.
Only some of these people may be guilty. Surely many others elsewhere are also. I would love to track down each one and make them walk on hot coals. But its not going to happen. Things like this might be the best we can accomplish. But, believe me, I do hope that a group comes along that will mete out justice with far more accuracy and far broader scope and highly appropriate punishments. Until then, I approve of non-violent fear tactics like this.

Yes, this is that typical butt-hole attitude I have seen so often. Audacity check. Yes, you pass.
This is like a husband who has knocked all his wife's teeth out and she has left him. Then she gets a call from him one day, and when she does not seem to be happy to hear from him, he asks, "Gee, you still bitter!? You always were such a whiner!"

This is hardly a surprise. After all America has done to Iran. This is like going up to someone you have been screwing over for years and saying, "Hey man, let's talk." If you were not ready to hear "Drop dead.", then you are a complete fool.
Yeah, I have had similar conversations with people who either just cannot see what selfish, greedy, butt-holes they are or take others to be complete fools. There are plenty of both those types on the American side.
We hardly need special reasons concerning Iranian culture to back that up. If you have any idea about history and simple human nature, its all clear enough.
Here is where I think someone is going to come along and demand I criticize Iran. And when I ask them what for, they are going to dredge up every little molehill as if they compare to the mountains we can criticize America for.

But we needed to hear about it anyway, you know, because getting all worked up about Islam is the "in" thing right now. Naturally, this group of 35 represents all of Islam and all Muslims agree with them. So lets act like this is not just a proposal, and act like its already law, and just for good measure, lets also predict the next step that they will just keep all women chained to beds after this. You know, because that is what Islam is all about.
