Unfortunately, any grassroots opposition to China's enslavement of Tibet will inevitably be drowned out by governments and industry that care more about cheap labor than they ever will about basic, human justice. Even Taiwan is "playing ball" these days.
Agreed, rjd. Requiring that kind of consensus is a good safeguard. I have to wonder, though... If a strong personality on the panel asserts that someone should hang, will others who are less convinced have the fortitude to dissent? (And vice versa.)

Japan is not an inexpensive country. But it doesn't have to be expensive either.
I've visited Japan twice, once for two weeks in 2005 and again last Autumn for three weeks. I've stayed (by myself) in business hotels…
