Amnesty International might as well ask them to arrest Putin for murdering Chechens and Hu Jintao for murdering Tibetans.

This should be the Mariner's fans' business more than anyone else's here since it matters more to them. A friend who's a M's fan mentioned that they need a run-producer (RBIs) to drive in runs, above yet another base-runner who will just end up getting stranded yet again. So even if Kawasaki wants to go to the M's, if he's not what the M's need, then it won't be a good fit, and both sides will just be miserable - and all that'll do is piss off the fans. So advice to Kawasaki is: find a team that fits for you and for the team.
As for the WBC, it won't be important like the Soccer World Cup, not until all the best players treat it seriously and is run separately by a year-round institution solely dedicated to it - currently, the MLB and MLBPA run the WBC, so their dedication to it is divided. Like the Olympics, which was good while it lasted.
IIRC, there was an amateur Japanese baseball player who wanted to go straight to America (minor leagues, of course, to develop) and asked the NPB not to draft him, but the NPB drafted him anyways; yet he still went to America, but the NPB blacklisted him if he ever returns. I think Taiwanese players, and maybe even South Korean players, are allowed to go straight to America - and that's why there's more of them in the U.S. minor leagues than Japanese players.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry's apology was a day late and a dollar short. And so, their diplomats got their butts kicked out.
Ironically, this stems from the internal Iranian squabble between Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Ahmadinejad. Compared to Khamenei who wants to make a hard stand against the West, Ahmadinejad is like the reasonable one who's willing to talk with the West. Who da thunk?

Not many countries in the world could do what the U.S. is doing and carry weight: go into a nation and call for change to an open society. Not Russia, not China, not India, etc. That's why U.S. foreign policy is significant.

First of all, let me correct a wrong data mentioned here:
The USA basketball team BEAT Spain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (USA are undefeated 2008 Olympic and 2010 FIBA World Champions!)
Second, the best international baseball tournament was the Olympics since it was mostly amateurs with no money worries, but alas, it's gone now and won't return because the OIC wants MLB to promise allowing its best pro players to participate mid-season.
(And BTW, Venezuela has the best team, ha!)

The Arab Spring was inevitable, like the breakup of the Soviet Union - people eventually want to be off the despots. If the West had clearly opposed it, the West would have been hated more than even now. The result would have been a bunch of new governments that are irreparably unfriendly to the West. That would have been the worse scenario. At least currently, the relation is moderate and salvageable - they could have a working relationship, even if not a familial one.

Muslim women were also voting to protect their rights. In many poll stations, Muslim women were outnumbering men 3-to-1 or 4-to-1.

Hahaha, they still haven't learned to booby-trap embassies in Iran yet?
Just let the striking workers in UK have a go at the Iranian embassy and call it even.

Supply lines would be an inconvenience but won't be a big problem. Because of previous Taliban attacks on supply lines in Pakistan, most supply lines now run thru Russia and former Soviet republics.

A lot of battery life is from screen brightness. Turn down the screen brightness and only turn it up temporarily when it's actually needed. Most time and apps, it's not needed.
