Soon, the hard drives will cost more than the computer they're in. There's not going to be deep discounts on computers this holiday season because manufacturers can't afford it. Right now, computers are as low as they'll gonna get, as prices are expected to rise next year.

multitasker,
BTW, "Catching Hell" is a documentary made by ESPN last month.
This Japan Series seems to be shaping up like the 1996 World Series when the underdog NY Yankees (yes, underdogs) lost the first 2 WS games at home to the defending champion Atlanta Braves, but then proceeded to sweep 4 straight games for their first championship in 2 decades and starting the dynasty of winning 4 WS in 5 years.

I think that's the point - to keep it that way. It is called a "containment" policy, after all - stay there and keep staying there. No touching Taiwan; no owning the South China Sea.

The root of the questions is, why are China's neighbors being threatened by China?
And y'know, if it's really a paper tiger, Taiwan would've been invaded already, hahaha.

Are they still looking for the anti-Romney? Just select Romney already and just be done with it and go on with the national elections!
Well, at least it's not some communist government where the electorate do not even get to find out where all the money comes from because corruption is state-sponsored.

Anybody know off the top of the head what % of all sales that artists are able to keep in iTunes? Obviously, artists would prefer to go first where they get to keep more - and that could be the game-changer.
Hopefully, Google's software won't copy iTunes. A lot of users don't like iTunes yet have no choice but to use it because everything with their i-gadgets have to go thru iTunes - and that's exactly one of the reasons they don't like about it. They don't want to be restricted by iTunes' limitations.
As they say within the tech industry, if you want something to become a standard, you have to let it go - meaning you have to let others have a go with it and tinker with it. If Google frees up their software, let others develop extensions for it, let users configure how it works - or better yet, let other software work with their Android gadgets instead of being forced thru Google's software, that would open a whole world of choices configured to each particular user's preferences - rather than one-size-fits-all.

I like to be my own gatekeeper. I'd rather make my own choices than a company make the choices for me. Yep, my iPhone and Android phones are "jail-broken." There are a lot of good apps out there that aren't "company-approved."
Apple makes a lot of money off iPhone because Apple forces everybody to follow Apple's price structure and marketplace. A lot of companies don't like it, but they have to go along if they want to sell to iPhones and iPads. They would rather decide their own prices or their own marketplace apps, instead of being forced thru Apple's marketplace, where Apple gets a bigger cut. So if you think an app or game is more expensive than it should be on Apple's marketplace, it's likely that Apple does not allow a slightly lower price for it in its price structure.

unreconstructed,
Obama lived in Indonesia, just north of Australia.
Most Americans probably don't know where it is though, so your concern is warranted.
