It seems the Republicans winning the House is best thing to happen to Obama since it lit up a fire on the Congress Democrats' asses. More things happened in Congress in the last month than in the last year. The tax bill is seen more of a win for Republicans, but the other big issues like DADT repeal, START, 9/11 Health Care bill, etc. are seen more of a win for Obama. Consequently, political pundits are calling Obama the Comeback Kid.
Even the American public attributes the things getting done: a large majority (59%) of Americans believe that President Obama is "doing enough" to cooperate with Republicans in Congress, while in contrast, just 28% of Americans believe that Republicans are doing enough to cooperate with the President and 69% believe they are not doing enough.

taj,
It's true; like cellphones, the Japanese game industry is on its own little island. Games don't need Japan's sales to become successful anymore. Many Japanese games only sell in Japan, thus missing out on worldwide sales and revenues. More importantly, many new innovations don't originate from Japan.

Ironically, Russia is also in a standstill not because of snow but because it's unseasonably warm. Instead of snow, Moscow got rain and ice, weighing power lines to snap to huge blackouts and roads full of slippery black ice. So big bad Russian winter is getting warmer, whodathunk?! What Napoleon or Hitler couldn't overcome, haha!

There are always people who would believe any theory put forth is kooky, including the solar radiation theory. If we can't trust NASA or other scientific organinzation on global temperature measurements, why would we trust them on solar measurements?
Anyways, this is not even the worst blizzard the mid-Atlantic states have faced. The one a decade ago is even worse.

Dunno how would the climates change, as climatology is not my area of expertise. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just looking for the raw data of temperatures and what's the trend (there's always a trend - change is the only constant on Earth). I leave the rest to experts.

People always say it's global warming in the summer and global cooling in the winter. So what if it's the hottest summer or coolest winter on record. What matters is the average for the whole year - the hottest summer or coolest winter could be outweighed by the temperatures of the other seasons. It's not the extremes that matter; it's the average for the year as a whole.

The Republicans followed through on what they said: once the tax issue was out of the way, they would move on the other issues.
Priority on cutting spending, yes. Stimulating the economy - apparently the $800 trillion stimulus bill just passed. But there's no timetable about correcting an injustice.

skipthesong,
It is up to the US military to make the necessary preparations. This allows them to do that before implementation. The US military can handle it.

This was just a matter of time. The American population has already turned and support the DADT repeal, then the majority of soldiers don't mind the repeal neither, moreso with each succeeding new generation of young recruits.
And if they were gonna do it, this is the way. If DADT was overturned in the courts and the Supreme Court, the repeal would have been immediate (it's not up to the SCOTUS to make accomodation) and giving the military no time to prepare. At least this way, there's a plan to ease the adjustments and training.

No disrespect, but his time has gone awhile ago, with the likes of Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, etc. alongside him. Larry King was just one of the last few stragglers of a bygone era.
Talking to anchors/interviewers is not as it used to be, now that interviewees have so many venues to control and shape their image and disseminate their message.
King was good as it gets during that golden age though.
