Okay, so there maybe a distrust and a view that this is just a PR job. Guys/Gals lets just wait and see what the outcome is. kudos to Aso for having the guts to do this. He's a confidant man, which is more than I can say for the other PMs we've had. Further the fact that he's doing this and reaching out must be a first in japan. Give him time and see what comes out of it. Teh reality is Japan has been in a lethagic state for so long, what's a few months to a year?

Guys let's take our minds off the 2-3 litres of coke a day thing okay. What she chooses to drink is her issue. Sticking to the topic as the JT moderator is so prone to saying....
I would like to add my two cents wiorth of comments for the day, both Hoshino Aki and Akinna Minami are fine representatives of the "Golden Arches" and a nice choice by Mickey D's to be the spokesmen for L-Sizing something!
They can serve me in a mickey D's anyday!

Soldave, doesn't matter. Worse acts have prospered in Japan and in other places. If there is a market for them and their fans from the days gone by want them back, more power to them.

ALHQQ - To enjoy eye candy is very different from propositioning and commiting what is without a doubt a hideous crime. Agree 17 is south of what is agreed as legally and morally appropriate, but your first part of the second sentence captures it "Very nice pciture indeed..."

Beat Takeshi is more than a gangster actor. As ointed out by techall, Sgt Hara in Merry Christmas MrLawrence was one of his earlier roles and imo one of his best roles. Playing the charachter of Hideki Tojo doesn't make Takeshi any worse or unadmirable. History is history and it has to be told so that it won't be repeated. It only becomes a problem when one blatantly covers up history or distorts history that it becomes a problem. There are no winners or losers in a war as everyone pays a price in that humanity loses.

Cannot possibly imagine Morning Museme will be able to celebrate their 30th Anniversary and sure hope they won't. The concept will be better off facing an early demise...

Presto 345
I actually think that quite a lot of Japanese women have wonderful proportions nowadays. Whether you like them tall, small, thin, full figured, Japan nowadays has a lot to offer. And that is in a natural way, and without the surgeon's assistance.
On this topic of what did Kyoko look like before all the surgery, no idea. In general though, those who pursue the perfection of beauty via the surgeon's assistance are in pursuit of the impossible. Perfection is a non-existing concept, as it is the slight imperfection which I tend to find characterizes the true beauty. I mean growing up Michelle Pfeiffer was someone I thought was seriously hot and she is apparantly "far from perfect" in terms of facial balance etc (though by my efinition that is perfectly fine for me).
Look at Michael Jackson, along with the Kano sioster, a classic case where the surgeon's work takes them closer to looking like something far from perfect as they choose to look something closer to what they think is perfection.
In a nutshell, beauty is within the eye of the beholder. That may be the message the book aims to pass on but I think he authors may not be the right messenger to deliver such a message.
