In the US, the predominant strain infecting people is the an Influenza A H3N2 type that is different from this years H3N2 component in the vaccine. This change in the flu virus is a result of "genetic drift" or change due to random changes in expression of its DNA. Estimates indicate that this years vaccine (based on last years flu viruses) is only 23% effective against the predominant circulating flu virus this year. Therefore, basic hygiene and infection control measures are important in protecting against flu. Also, early treatment with antivirals (Tamiflu) within the first 48 hours would lesen the severity and duration of illness.

Japan does have the dengue vector A. Aegypti mosquito.
There is no natural immunity once infected. In fact, previously infected individuals can develop potentially life threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever. The pathophysiology involves an auto immune response in a previously infected individual.
The best way to prevent dengue is to avoid mosquito bites with the usual preventive measures.

Cowards. Throwing eggs from the safety of a moving car. If they have issues with gaijin, they should confront them face to face.

Where is the child's father in this? I doubt he pays child support. I don't know for sure but I heard the family court system in Japan awards meager amounts of child support to the custodial parent. Enforcement is also nonexistent and many deadbeat dad's shirk their financial responsibility and don't even see their kids.

I concur with those selectively teaching a lesson to those idiots walking with their craniums buried in their phones. I've done it to males and stared them down unapologetically after the hit. Of course I'm always prepared to deal with possible retaliation but all just kept going on their way.

Most carry .38 specials. He needed at least 2 rounds in the center of mass to drop his chinchin in the dirt. Too bad he didn't aim higher and to the left...the perp got what he deserved for attempted murder of a police officer.
