Well, there are some homeless people who insult bypassers out of frustration from time to time. Maybe this one did so and got a shower for free as a reward.

Well, call me captain obvious but Mixi is for interacting with people you don't know when Facebook is for interacting with people you already know.
It's much easier to search for new people on Mixi than on Facebook.
And personally, I prefer to interact with the non-westernized japanese which are mostly on Mixi.
The communities on Mixi are pretty cool too. I even got jobs offers there!

Most of you guys aren't Japanese, so it's normal that you prefer K-dramas instead of the J-dramas which are tailored to the japanese audience. Just like K-pop, K-dramas are more western-like in my opinion (more yelling, more violence, etc).
Personally, I prefer J-dramas and J-pop all the way because there is that little something that you don't find in any other country. What I like with japanese TV is that I never feel the agressivity that I find in any other foreign TV.
And I don't think it's racist to try to preserve your cultural difference.
I don't want a world where everything looks/sounds the same in every country. That would be a nightmare.

One thing people forget is the fact that a search engine's customer base isn't only made of net users doing searches. It's also made of webmasters. And the truth is that webmasters have no choice but becoming slaves of Google if they want to get a better trafic for their websites. This allow Google to shape the Internet to its liking, by forcing its rules upon all the webmasters of the planet. That's pretty sick if you ask me.

So, can someone explain why the US didn't drop the bomb on military infrastructures instead?
I believe that this alone would have sent the right message to the stubborn japanese army : "see what we can do?"
I understand it was the norm to bomb civilians during this era but if they were so eager to kill japanese people, why not drop the bomb right in the middle of Tokyo??
The reason is that the US wanted Japan to be able to recover ... but they also wanted to test the bomb on a civilian target.

Sorry but you're not the only one who've lived long enough. Great increase of solar panel efficiency has been demonstrated in labs. The new panels are lighter, flexible, they are transparent so that they can be applied on windows and they harvest energy from a much greater percentage of the solar spectrum. Also, until now, solar panels didn't harvest the heat produced on their surface. The new panels will. Now the trick is to find ways to mass-produce them cheaply enough.

Read scientific papers and you'll see that solar panels efficiency is going to skyrocket very soon. Added to that, nanotech will allow us to harvest energy from the smallest pressions/frictions anywhere possible (ie: roads, pavement, etc). If you pour enough money and brainpower in a certain technology, anything can be done.

Speaking of anti-tsunamis measures, how about auto-inflatable balloons hidden in the roofs so that the house hovers a few meters above the ground in case of a serious alert? :)

True or not, I remember stories of brain death wrongly diagnosed, wich means people later "miraculously" emerged from "death". So, as I don't want to take that risk, no organ donation from me either.
